Unfortunately I don't go here anymore. For a few reasons... First Two months ago I needed some work done. My days off at work changed so I am off Wednesdays now. So I was told the first appointment I can have was a month later yes 30 days later I was like SMH. I waited a week and then canceled it and found another dentist that is more accommodating. Now granted I don't expect anybody to jump for me. But.. there is almost 10 dentists working in the office now. The owner Dr. Modi no longer practices she just runs the bus... read more

I went to Bridgeport Smiles between September 2015 and February 2016. I was told that I had 9 cavities and was admonished for having "high blood pressure". But I continued with my treatment plan (I wish I hadn't) and had 5 of my "cavities" filled. I switched jobs and insurance so I sought out a new dentist. Based on BS math, I still had 4 "cavities" left to fill. Imagine my surprise when my new dentist said, you only have one cavity and it's nowhere near the 4 "cavities" they said you had. I had a root canal done here. After a few hours my face started swelling up. I got an infection through the root canal process. I also didn't like that the doctor was interrupted a lot of times by people during my procedure. The procedure was supposed to be an hour and it lasted for 2 hours.Unfortunately I trusted this place to do my root canal that cost $$$. I should have paid a hundred more to go somewhere else. Our first visit here was great. My 5 year old was at ease, comfortable, the practice was thorough, kid friendly and timely. So why the poor rating? We came back two days ago for his 6 month cleaning and we will never be back. Visually, the office is great. The front desk staff is wonderful too. Very friendly and good with children. Nicely decorated, modern, etc. no problems there. I was excited for Bridgeport Smile. I was looking forward to not having to travel far for my kid's dental visits. It was the first time my son was there so he have to take some x-rays. The dentist assistant (middle age chinese lady) was taking the pictures for my son. My son was trying very hard to follow her directions. She was giving him lots of pain. I am writing this review for my mom. Like the other people who has the worst experience in this place, my mom was asking to get a teeth cleaning and in which the assistant was not professional at all!! Her mouth and teeth were hurting so bad while the assistant was helping with the cleaning and there were no water/ not even bother to ask her if she wants water to rinse her mouth. After this review, your mom returned to the office and was very happy with her treatment. She left hugging the staff. The fallen "tooth", was her temporary crown, and this can happen as it was cemented with a mild, temporary adhesive, as we need to be able to take if off for the delivery of the final crown, which we were waiting for by the lab. I had an appointment for teeth cleaning before college started. Went there and the receptionist was nice. When I went in for my teeth cleaning, this Chinese dentist or assistant was giving me an x-Ray... Which doesn't make sense at all but I waited for her to finish what she had to do. The x- Ray process was really unprofessional and hurts a lot! Taking xrays as a first time patient can be hard, but it is for your benefit as we are trying to diagnosis your mouth as best as possible. We can take less xrays or try numbing you prior to the xrays, to maximize your convenience. We, unfortunately, cannot do any work on new patients (fillings or cleaning) without these xrays and that is to get an accurate idea of what is going on in someone's mouth.
