Great pastrami sandwich and an awesome diner feel. Kids loved it too and the waiter helped us order for them to not spend a fortune.
This was our first time dining at Brooklyn Diner which we picked specifically because of their turkey dinner plate. We got there in advance of our reservation and even though it was crowded we were seated early. Our server was spectacular! He was great at accommodating our kids despite the lack of available kids menus and made the best Shirley Temples. We’re keeping this place in mind for our next trip to NYC.
Thanksgiving dinner. Divine, but the best of our meals was not the Thanksgiving Turkey plate, but the pot pie. Yum!
There is much that is positive. The hostess and our server were both friendly and accommodating. We did not feel rushed. Although it was crowded, the noise level allowed for conversation. The prices are on the high side, but this is the theater district. On the other hand, this is a restaurant and the food should be good. Nothing we ordered was good. Nothing was bad either, except for the mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was fair. That was disappointing.
A great meal before our broadway show! Portions are huge- plan to share.
The space is old, dirty and dingy and small. The food is great. This is not representative of the other Shelley Fireman restaurants
I can't imagine why, but I had never eaten here before. It's a quirky, comfortable place in a perfect location. We started with some really good guacamole, and then moved on to burgers and pastrami. All tasty. The reasonably-priced bottle of wine we ordered was just right. Give it a try! You'll like it!
Just a little annoyed this time around. I ordered a kale salad with grilled chicken and received a spinach salad with grilled chicken. I told our waiter it wasn’t Kale and he took it back and brought back the dish telling me he was told it was kale. Kale and spinach are very different in color and look. I insisted it wasn’t They insisted it was. I ate it it was good but not what I ordered.
I love this place! Have been there several times, and I love taking someone who has never been. The food is very good, and it’s a great place for comfort food. You won’t leave hungry! The servers are always efficient and friendly. I would recommend reservations for busy days/times.
