Went for breakfast, place was packed, I learned long ago to have a reservation. Service was excellent, always is. Food consistently fresh and delicious. Never disappointment!
We stopped here because it was close to our hotel on West 57th Street. We expected very little because it is called a diner but we were very pleasantly surprised. We were a party of four, were greeted warmly and seated immediately. We had a variety of foods, ranging from chicken soup to turkey burgers and pastrami sandwiches. Everything was plentiful and delicious, service was excellent. We all enjoyed it very much and vowed to return on our next trip to New York.
Brooklyn Diner was bustling at the lunch hour. Our server was attentive and delightful, but the fare was quite average. My guest ordered a burger cooked to medium which arrived very rare. I expected a bit more zing from the Pollo Cubano but flavors and presentation were only very basic.
We had a burger and a Chicken Pot Pie at our table. The burger was perfect, and the only problem with the Pot Pie wastage size - it was enough for 4 servings. At least it was delicious!
Fantastically typical diner. We had an amazing breakfast, food was delicious, service was brilliant and the atmosphere just what we were looking for in New York!

We go to the diner every time we visit New York. Usually, the food is great, but this time not so much. The French toast was stale and very dry.
One of our must visits each time we are in the city!
Food is consistently good in this busy diner. Friendly, and you never feel rushed.
