Second visit, first was at other location in Times Square for breakfast. This was for dinner and it was even better. The menu is not super extensive, but the dishes are interesting. I had a Mediterranean plate and added grilled shrimp. My colleague had the chicken pot pie which was huge and he really enjoyed it. The server was very attentive and gave good input on the dishes.
Just wanted a classic NY deli sandwich with turkey. Got two slices of fresh turkey on not-NY rye for $23...not what I had hoped for.
Outstanding chicken soup. Great desserts AND freshly squeezed orange juice!!
The food quality was very, very disappointing. Was not appetizing at all. It’s been a while since I’ve been there sadly I won’t be returning.

My dinner companion found a piece of glass in the pot pie he ordered. Glass, yes. The host comped him his meal. But glass is dangerous. It did not speak well for the restaurant.
Business response:
We take this matter extremely seriously. While we’re glad the meal was comped, we understand that this does not lessen the concern. Please know we are reviewing our preparation and safety procedures to ensure this does not happen again. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. I like Brooklyn Diner because it’s right in the neighborhood but honestly there’s not quite enough value for the money. Everything is about $5 more than it should be especially when there are other diner options in the area. I realize I’m paying for ambience but honestly $85 for two breakfasts (that includes tax and tip) is kind of ridiculous.
Business response:
We appreciate your perspective on pricing and value, and we’ll share your comments with our team. We’re glad you enjoy the location and ambience and hope to continue improving your experience. Stephanie Holmes - Director of Guest Services, The Fireman Hospitality Group
One of my pet peeves is restaurants offering something high quality and then baiting and switching in something cheap, like listing freshly squeezed orange juice with a breakfast choice and then serving mass produced, much cheaper bottled orange juice. This happens here. On leaving, when I asked for the menu to confirm that I had read freshly squeezed, I mentioned this to the host who then launched into an even worse pet peeve “I trust my server who has worked here for 30 years”. That means the customer comes last and that i... read more

First the wait staff was a no show after ordering your food. The bathrooms felt like you were at a MTA transit bathrooms. It’s was dirty and trash was all over place. My son had a dirty fork, and they didn’t provide an apology after we requested a new silverware. Please visit the other location on 43rd street.
Business response:
Michael, we regret that your experience was not more positive. Your feedback helps us improve and we will certainly take note of your valuable comments. Stephanie Holmes - Director of Guest Services, The Fireman Hospitality Group
My experience at the Brooklyn was ok. If you decide to go this restaurant on West 57th Street, and you order the blueberry pancakes, just know that one pancake costs $19.00.
