Hubby in fact all the staff were very nice. We were in & out in less than an hour. Would come back again if we’re looking for fast friendly service & simple but good food.
Visiting NYC and needed a casual quick place to eat after a long day of playing tourist. Brooklyn Diner hit the spot.
Perfect before Carnegie, the Brooklyn diner knows it’s audience. Keep it simple: excellent burgers, sandwiches. It hits its stride with wonderful soups: terrific split pea ( with slices of frankfurters as a surprise!), and huge bowls of chicken soup. We had their perfect plate. ( hummus, salad stuff ) with blackened salmon; delicious Cuban chicken . Only disappointment was fish tacos. Oh, save room for the rugelach! Relatively quiet and oh so close to Carnegie!
Easy time, good food and good stuff. My kid enjoyed the amazing hot dog Thank you
Place was so much smaller than expected. Hard to sit a party of five. One of us had to sit in the aisle. Fairly loud. They were ready for us when we arrived about 5 mins early. A bit pricey but it is NYC.
Excellent food !
We had a really nice experience here. Our waiter, Carlos, was attentive, polite, funny and fast. He was exceptional. The food was terrific too. Good burger, pastrami sandwich, and pot pie. The 15 bite hot dog was incredible! We had two amazing deserts; the coconut cake and the strawberry cheesecake. Both were exceptional. As a city dweller, I've come to expect fresh-cut fries from a place with this level of food and that was the one area where they fell short. That's really nit-picky, huh?
After reading so many mixed reviews about the Brooklyn diner, I finally decided to give it a try. It was great. Ambiance was fabulous. Yes, it’s expensive....but it was also delicious. And everything in New York is expensive. Plates were warm, coffee was quickly refilled without having to ask, the poached eggs were poached, not cooked in those little cups. Bacon was a too tough to eat. That was disappointing. But the sausage patties were excellent.
The food was delicious, better than I expected!! I will be back. This is a great place to eat before Carnegie Hall and City Center.
