Proudly occupying the space of the former Greyhound Depot, BRU Burger Bar Evansville is the fifth BRU location for Cunningham Restaurant Group. Bru is an ode to our love... the Burger. It’s a classic, purely American, and an icon. The hamburger is the people’s sandwich, everyman’s food. Paired with a beer, we can't imagine what could be much better. Our goal is to bring you great burgers made from the best local meats, topped with the freshest ingredients and placed in our freshly baked buns.

The atmosphere was great! Very short wait for a Friday night and we appreciated that they texted my phone when our table was ready instead of us having to hold a nasty beeper. The burgers were good, but the specialty toppings on them were hard to taste. It seems that the beef overwhelmed the rest of the burger. The onion rings were soggy but the soft pretzels were nice. Loved the beer cheese that came with the pretzels. We will probably not be back but was fun to try!

It wasn't bad but I probably won't go back. My cocktail was delicious. The Vanderburgh Runner. I do recommend that. Got the mushroom and Swiss burger. It was bland. Not worth the price in my opinion.
Went to eat around 3pm on Friday afternoon. Very few people there at the time. Requested a booth. Had to be seated in bar area. Not sure why. Waited around 10 min. No one came to wait on us. Servers were standing around talking. Left without eating. On the way out told hostess what I thought of service. Friend left her purse at the table and when she returned to get it, the manager was chewing staff out. He apologized to her. He did give her $50 worth of gift certificates. Guess we will try again!
It was good, but expensive for what you get. The table had sticky gooey stuff on it and instead of cleaning it, the server halfway wiped it off with a napkin. Why would a burger place make you pay for fries a la carte? You also have to ask for a burger set up (lettuce, tomato, onion) - it does not automatically come on every burger. Drinks were good but that's pretty common in this town. Place just opened and was packed for a Thursday night in Evansville. But, it was an unusually busy entertainment night here in Evansville... um the Harlem Globetrotters and Blue Collar comedian Ron White were in town... yeah I know hot time in the big city. The burgers were good but the fries and onion rings weren't. It was a little overpriced for what you got. It won't be a place where I will frequent regularly.
Love the atmosphere and the food! Service was terrible. My friend and I were there for 2 hrs. Most of that time was spent at our table waiting for our waitress. She was unpleasent, not helpful and kind of rude. I don't expect everyone to be cheerful every time but don't take 30 mins to get our drinks, take our order or bring us our check. Not impressed. Not sure if I will go back.
