Parking is plentiful but if you're feeling fancy you can valet for $5 and express valet for $10. When to you enter the security personnel are welcoming and barely card anyone. ( I guess the people in my party look old lol) I don't particularly like the slots but I used a $59 dollar free play to win a few dollars so that I could play what I really wanted. BLACKJACK. On your first visit you spin a wheel and can win up to $1000 in free play. And you get $10 for bringing a new guest. They have self serve complementary soft drinks. They have a buffet and a cafe to get something to eat. The staff are friendly. They dont allow smoking but they do have an out door section where you can smoke. Calder has a pretty good buffet in my opinion. Price was $21.99. I had a little bit of most everything. I will start with negative because it's very short. Stuffed salmon was dry and tasteless. Dinner roll. Hard like a bullet. Seemed old, too. Warm your buns, staff! Most likely shipped in by a food distributor and not a bakery. But, who foolishly eats bread at a buffet anyways? I'm not a huge gambler, but I love Jai Alai and they just recently started playing at Calder. For those that ever went to Miami Jai Alai in its heyday, this is a far cry from the huge fronton. It's smallish. I guesstimate about 100 seats. Wagering is a real gamble because it's fairly empty, so you really won't win much. Hopefully that will change and more people will attend. I went to Calder Casino for there annual Mother's Day Brunch it was price perfect at 29.99 plus taxes. The food was scrumptious. They had an omelette station, hot and cold bar, grill to order steak, fish and chicken. A variety of ice cold sodas, bottomless Mimosas , Blood Marty's and Sangria. We love Calder!!! If we could go every weekend, we would!! Sooooooo much fun!! Calder has the best games and it's non smoking!!! Best casino in S. Florida! The food isn't that great but their cookies are amazing!!!

I actually want to give Calder a three and a half star rating. I will start off with the more negative things I find about Calder. The parking is difficult. They really do not have much parking in the main area and I always have to park far away. I really don't mind this unless it is raining. It seems like no matter what time of day I go there it is busy, which I guess is good for them. I also think their variety of game denominations is limited. We were invited to the casino by my long-time friends to enjoy the buffet. Since I get together regularly with my friend and we take turns choosing, I reluctantly agreed to go to the buffet. I've been to the casino buffets and was far from impressed but one thing I could tell you about this place, the food was fresh, the food was delicious, the desserts were scrumptious and I don't eat dessert, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I'm a tough casino critic, having been in the biz and all, but I have to say I'm very impressed with this place. The staff is always uber nice, the place is clean, and one of their restaurants makes awesome food! I love Lucky's, their chicken wings are so good, and tonight they had a creamed spinach with it that well, made you cream your pants (sorry, it was there, I had to take it...). But seriously, the food at Luckys, even of you don't gamble, come in for a bite and do not forget to try their carrot cake!
