I first visited Dr. Wilson back in Dec. 2018. Her staff was very helpful. I definitely had so many questions and concerns about the results I was trying to achieve in regards to my skin pigmentation and how I would get there but Dr. Wilson was such an amazing person. She took her time to explain what procedure would best fit me, she ensured I felt comfortable with the treatment plan. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Wilson. She's professional, warm and friendly, all at the same time. She knows what she is doing and stays up to the date with the latest techniques. I tried Fraxel, and Clear and Brilliant at her recommendation. With both techniques, I felt that she was not trying to sell me on any type of procedure but was giving me her honest opinion on what she thought made sense for me. Normally OK, but the last time I was there I waited for almost an hour without seeing anyone an decided to just leave. CSI acknowledged it was their fault, then did nothing to remedy the problem.

I am a patient with real skin abnormalities, not Botox nor plastic surgery. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics to me which I was allergic to. I called them back, nobody answered, so I left a message telling them I might have allergic reaction, but nobody called back. Couple days later, I called again; nobody answered again, so I left a message again. Two day later, they finally called back and got me an earlier appointment without addressing my allergic reaction. Immediately upon walking in, you notice that CA Skin Institute is much different than most dermatology practices. To offer an analogy, most dermatology offices are modern, clean, and stylish like a brand new BMW or Benz. This place is a 20 year-old Honda Civic. The front desk experience: all wearing surgical masks but hanging off their faces. The woman who checked me in was cold and unenthusiastic. Today I visited the California skin institute in Sunnyvale . I came in for acne scarring . Paul Hoesly was the dr I was assigned to . He was very kind. The front staff was very prompt . Paul addressed my concerns in a timely matter . overall very detailed and skilled professional . I highly reccomend this establishment . Clean and organized office . 5 stars.

TL;DR 1. be wary of Dr Hoesly. He is impatient, unhelpful, and greedy. 2. always confirm with the stuff who the doctor will be for your appointment. They may change the doctor for you without letting you know. Long version I recently had a very bad experience with Dr Hoesly. I made my appointment on their website for some small skin problems on my foot, and I put explicitly that I would like to see Dr Recht.
