We cannot rate Carmack highly enough. Debbie, who put together the estimate over the phone was scary accurate with the amount of boxes it would take to pack various spaces, the size of the truck that we would need, and how long it would take the movers to load and unload. Not only did the moving team need exactly the amount of time she estimated, but they were exceptionally punctual on both ends of the move as we needed to store our items for about a week. I received their number, called them and within 2 hours they were here and moved my safe. Their price was half of that of another company I contacted who could not move the safe for several days.

The Carmack team of movers were nice and professional, but as happens sometimes, damaged a few pieces of furniture and destroyed a kitchen table. This was not our first move, so we weren't upset, because "things happen." However, this is why you should STAY AWAY from Carmack. After sending Carmack the pictures, as a part of the claims process, and waiting several months, as is the requirement under their policy, they denied the claim, saying that there wasn't enough damage to warrant paying us. That was actually quite disastrous. The numbers they gave me on the estimate were not the numbers that happened in actuality and so that I very much disliked. In the middle of the job they said we needed to have additional movers come, so that was a surprise and I disliked that. They did not pack up anything that was not boxed or even like large trash cans orduffle bags and all kinds of things they said needed to be boxed which is not true for moving companies. Working with Carmack began well with a competitive estimate, scheduling, and contract finalization. Carmack deferred the pack date by a day, from a Sat to a Sun, which I thought was to my advantage - to have a little more time organize items and prepacked boxes before the pack and load, but in hindsight I'm not so sure.
