i went in and no one would help me. I was in there for 20 minutes...i saw sales people who weren't busy, they were just talking and goofing off. i left and went across the highway to the other boot store there. I ended up spending $300 there. Why? because they helped me.

Walking around and saw sale tags with prices on the boots but no indication of previous price. Saw original prices were marked out with sharpie so I looked closely and saw that the sale prices matched the original retail price! Super shady that they trick their customers this way!
If there were an option to select a minus rating, I would have rated a -10. On July 15, 2017 I visit the Cavender's store in San Marcos to purchase my next pair of boots. After looking for over an hour the selection was a pair of Ariat work boots with leather soles. Came to visit family for the holiday. Decided to go get me a nice pair of boots, since they're harder to find where I'm from. Had a fantastic experience in the store, staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. I tried on a pair of boots at size 7 and 8, and thought I needed a 7.5, so they were kind enough to special order it for me. My husband and I shop at Cavenders all the time my husband buys all his work FR clothes and boots every few months. Tonight we were shopping and had 135.00 worth of clothes along with 270.00 boots. Usually the sales people are really helpful and so nice. One lady was kind of nice. As I was trying on boots, no one asked if I needed help, which I did. I will never again give my money to this location. If you're a person of color, do not shop here; you won't get any service or attention from the staff. They sweet-talked every white person in the store. I wasn't welcomed as I walked in, sales staff looked past me, and they prioritized non people of color. If you suffer from SWB (Shopping While Brown), do yourself a favor and drive to a Cavender's in San Antonio where sales people are actually representative of your skin color and willing to assist you. I went in to purchase a gift card. Four employees were behind the counter. One employee was ringing people up, the other three were not acknowledging customers. Lines were forming, displacing the que/ order of customers. Still not any of the three other employees acknowledged what was going on, so I left. Is there no manager? Certainly no customer service.
Went during lunch no one helping than at checkout there were at least 4 cash registers one person working and while waiting 4 deep what I thought was help was a replacement so she could go to lunch. During my Long wait in line what I think is a manager comes up front looks the long line and gets on a register only to check something looks at the long line again and walks off. Took me about 20 min to checkout while all employees were going to lunch at the Same time
