regardless of poor service, I love this place. the food, drinks, ambience, I love it. my third time there and I'm already planning more times lol.
I always love dining here. The food is always great and the service very nice.
Best to make a reservation for brunch because it gets pretty crowded. The wait staff is great! The food is great! The drinks are always flowing! Unlimited mimosas are cheap and gooooooooood! I go every time my friends come to visit.
Had to wait beyond our reservation time as a huge bus load of people were still eating. Also, there were NO biscuits at all (sunday brunch at Chocolat has no biscuits?) and the coffee is only fair which was a huge disappointment to me given that I don't drink and it seemed to be all about the mimosas However, we were celebrating a girlfriend's 50th bday and we were having a great time... much of that due to the yummy salmon BLTs and our ADORABLE and very engaging waiter Jared who made the entire brunch worthwhile!
I had planned a reunion with old friends and new friends...the only connection they had with each other was ME..I had two friends from childhood who I had not hung out with over 20 years..my other two friends who I have known for less than 10 years laughing, we joked, sharing stories..WE all had a blast...Our waiter Walty was fantastic, The food was superb. The ambiance was relaxing, intimate and friendly.
When. you enter Chocolat, from the friendly greeting at the door to the attentive staff you feel like you have entered a quality restaurant. It is classy with moderate pricing. The chef delivers great flavors in his dishes with a wonderful plating presentation. I love the fish dishes and the brunch selections are terrific. A must do experience.
Loved the fact it is a mature crowd, but have a few good choices for children as well. To those that have complained the food took too long, the should note 1 fact: the food was cooked, not microwaved. The food was hot, the plates were not. that should say something.
I had three octogenarians with me. One asked for his coffee to be hotter and the waiter simply replied that it was fresh and just poured -- did not offer to microwave or accommodate. Another asked if the string beans could be cooked a little longer -- they waiter replied, "that's how they're supposed to be". Given that these were seniors, I felt the waiter did nothing to make their dining experience more pleasurable.
All I can say is Harlem is definitely upgrading!!...Go & c 4 yourself!!...
