I am very upset with this office and the way they are billing. Unethical billing without informing the patients in advance. The doctors are nice, but a few love to collect money rather than helping the patient. This office charges the patient not a flat fee, but based on the time the doctor spends to ask a lot of questions and at the end, they have no solutions, and they refer you to another doctor for something irrelevant. The worse office I have ever been to. It takes a long time to make an appointment & once you are there, it takes forever for the doctor to come & see you. Once the doctor gave me a chest x-ray order, he sent me to the front desk. Front desk told me where to go. I went to Hoag in Aliso Creek on 10/30/20 & by 11/04/20, I do not have the result. I warn parents not to bring your child to Dr. Laura Gordon. She dismisses parents' concerns. My daughter brought my grandson with cough and fever. Was checked and said it will just have to take its course, told to just give Tylenol. Did a swab to test for strep. My daughter called again the following day as the fever went up to 104 during the night and my grandson is refusing to drink or eat. worst practice ever. literally switched my child's primary doctor immediately. my child was having an ongoing fever for days that was going up to 104 F and was refusing to eat and drink along with cold symptoms. i had brought him in TWICE that week along with calling an on call doctor in the evening. all dr laura gordon did was reassure me that my child was "fine" would not prescribe anything and said if he was still feeling bad over the weekend to bring him in on monday which would have been SIX days of fever for a 21 month... read more

I recently switched to a different pediatrician and I am grateful. As a first time mom, all of this has been new to me. I have lots of questions and am not entirely sure of what I am doing as I navigate all of this for the first time with very limited medical knowledge. Will never ever visit dr. Phillips ever again. Disrespectful to any well informed patient; he simply can't Handel the challenge on vaccines. He needs to do all children a favor and retire.

Freaking freezing in here! Bring a jacket! Said he'd be in a few seconds with no one else ahead of us, waiting 10 minutes! Toes turning purple, nose cold, nurses and doctors wearing a jacket. Very strict on giving all vaccines. Didn't give any info on the next steps about that. No info on precautions for running cross country either. No advice. Dr. Nylander is amazing! Problem is she only works there part-time, so if you have an emergency and need to go in on another day, she's not there. My kids have seen Dr. Phillips, but he seems a bit behind in the times when it comes to breast-feeding and nutrition. Basically everything that he told me to do the coastal kids lactation consultant and Dr. Nylander told me the exact opposite. We decided to go with dr Phillips. I chose him because he is a father of 7 children - pretty naive!! After the visit he recommended we bring our baby back at 6weeks for his vaccinations. We said we want to discuss this because we would like to space it out. He made it like we are insane to do this like it was going to take him forever to inject our baby and his time is too precious for that!
