We love Coastal Kids! We had to find a new doctor after my insurance was downgraded. Maureen Downes in Irvine was amazing and we were so sorry to have to leave her practice, but Dr. Dyer and Dr. Lee have both been phenomenal at Coastal Kids. We have only ever been to the Laguna Niguel office. I don't seem to have any of the problems of the other posters. I think the office staff is really nice. They have never overcharged, in fact they don't charge me my copay for well visits and I know that is not part of my insurance... read more

My children have been patients of Dr. Abelowitz's since 2005. He is a leader pediatrics in Orange County and I feel confident when I am there that he providing the best care for our children. The office is convenient, friendly and they do their best to be on time. Of course there are times when patients before us need longer appointments but it is understandable. We love Nurse Angela! We have never had a billing issue and can be seen on weekends without having to go to Kids Doc. That's a huge plus.

We've been going to Coastal Kids since our daughter was born three years ago, and we always recommend them to our friends looking for a new pediatriacs office. It's never been difficult to get in for an appointment, and the office staff is very friendly and helpful (especially Angela, whom my daughter adores). When our daughter was diagnosed with a kidney defect two years ago they were incredibly supportive and Dr. Abelowitz provided us with excellent advice and a referral to a fabulous pediatric urologist. I have three kids who have all seen Dr. Abelowitz from birth and we love him and all the staff. They are extremely kind and professional. I have recommended them to all my friends and will continue todo so.

I have been taking my daughter to Coastal Kids for 4 years. The care we have received from the staff and doctors has been great. The doctors, management staff, nurses and assistants have always been professional, kind and genuine. Yes wait times can be long but what dr.'s office isn't plagued with such? Quite honestly I would rather an extended wait time if it meant thorough care for my daughter when our turn came around. I have experienced the HMO assembly line experience and Coastal Kids care beats it hands down.

wow. Lots of negative reviews for this place. To address another poster, NO ONE has paid me for my positive review here. That is laughable. My daughter is 3. She's come to Coastal kids, both Newport and Laguna Niguel since birth. I've had a few different doctors, and while Dr Apostle did leave, we found Nurse Practioner Patty, who we love. The Newport Office is open for Saturday appointments and Sundays for sick kids. Everyone I've seen there has been fine. I personally have no issue with nurse practitioners, and never h... read more

Dr. Dyer is honestly the best pediatrician I have EVER taken my children to. The office staff at Coastal Kids are always kind. I enjoy that they have well and sick rooms and Saturday office hours in Newport (with a higher copayment, probably to encourage "sick" visits, not just convenient weekend appts) I have been to all three locations and had a great experience in all. We've taken our 2 young daughters to the Irvine location since birth and since our doctor left there and we moved to south OC, we thought it made perfect sense to switch to this location. We brought our 3rd daughter here for her 3-day check-up and it was an absolute disaster. Due to the last minute appt, we were only able to see a nurse practitioner.
