In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. RecommendedCame for their friends and family opening day at the 82nd location. We had a great experience. The food was awesome and the service was great. Definitely coming back.
Super friendly staff! Cozy atmosphere and a huge choice for food... even for the BIG appetite at a reasonable price. My new favorite place especially for breakfast!

Showed up for lunch at noon on a Wednesday. Was pretty packed. Our waitress was wonderful. Spent 45mins there. Burgers cooked just right. Crispy yummy fries The oragne juice was wonderful. (recommended) Advice? Avocado sour dough bread. Please teach the kitchen how to peel an avocado. Avocado skin isn't the best tasting thing. Will be returning. See you soon!!

We we're a large party that didn't have to wait long on New Year's day. That was a nice surprise. Our wait for our food was a bit long but expected since it was so busy. However our order was not put in correctly and 2 people in our party had to wait longer for their food. One waiting was a 4 year old, so you can imagine how upset he was when his food was not placed in front of him. We of course tried to give him some of our food while he waited. The atmosphere and food was good. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The only drawback is that there were a lot of open seats in the dining room and workers standing around but the wait was 35-40 minutes. I didn't understand that and observed several people leave when told the wait was up to an hour.

This is a great place to dine. I haven't tried everything(diet restrictions) but what I have had here was great. Paradise Black Bear Diner was the best in town in my opinion!
