With all of the hot chicken contenders in LA, i'd definitely say Dave's is super basic and average with Howlin Ray's being the best of the best. I used to be a huge fan of Dave's sauce but it tastes a bit more and more artificial every time I've had it recently. Their fries are well seasoned and I always ask for it extra crispy to ensure they taste hot and fresh by the time I get home after my 3 minute walk. I mean if I could get a refund I would, not sure how they're getting paid to make the food look like slop, paying almost $20 for a combo with no drink. Yea right but maybe it's just the area, could be wrong but, if you don't like ur job don't be there.

I always go to the one on Western but since I live closer to this location I thought I'd give it a try. Boy, was that a mistake. The quality of the food is so bad here. The chicken was so chewy I had to spit it out because it was hurting my teeth. The French fries were also hard as a rock. Never coming here again.

I had a really disappointing experience at Dave's Hot Chicken. After eating there, I ended up feeling sick, which immediately made me question the quality of the food. I tried calling the store to report the issue, but their phone wasn't even working, so I had to go in person just to talk to someone. When I finally spoke with staff, they said they would call the manager. i asked an employee last week when was the last time the oil in the fryer was changed. they replied that they dont remember. they then proceeded to think about it and say the last time the fryer oil was changed was drakes birthday which was october 24. do not eat at this store this is absolutely unacceptable

We used to go there quite often. And it's one of our favorite late night protein grab. Loved their new chicken bites. However, after our last experience, we no longer want to go there. My hubby grabbed me an order of the chicken bites (forgot the name but it's those small pieces of chicken), and it was not how it used to be. It's already cooked and likely old chicken tenders cut into smaller pieces and fried again. I ordered this night (11/19) through their website for a mobile order and picked it up. I then drove 40 minutes back home, and when I finally opened up my take out bag, I was missing 2 of my orders. I wanted to resolve this problem, but it seems like this location has their phone turned off (maybe purposely), so I wasn't even able to let them know of my issue. I'm hoping to get this problem resolve because to pay 75$ dollars for 4 food items and only get 2 is ridiculous.
