TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I heard the hype. Mainly from my daughters. I get it now. It took me a bit to try Dave's, but that day came recently. Tried the #4 which is your standard chicken slider with fries. Got a DC, to wash it down. Good portion of food. It was plenty for me. Pretty solid. Sizey chicken strip on a soft bun with slaw, pickles, and sauce. I opted for the "Hot" spice level. The best fried chicken spot in Costa Mesa. We had chicken sandwiches and they were super delicious . They were not too greasy, not too dry, just perfectly crispy. I also love their Dave's sauce . It is a must try! The crinkle cut fries is very tasty too and it goes perfectly with the Dave's sauce. For the first time we have tried their mac and cheese and it was delicious. I love Dave's hot chicken it's always so good and everything is fresh. The fries are amazing and the service is always quick. Definitely my go to spot for late night meals.
