TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Delicious spicy chicken sandwich- I always get the hot level and it's perfect. Also they gave crunchy ice which is my favorite lol. Alexis was so nice and had a great attitude- I love when the staff is friendly :)

I saw this is a new place on 2nd street, wanted to try. Order was taken very quickly. I asked for carry out. I tried hot and I was told it was okay but it was too spicy for me. If you are not good with spices, make sure order medium, which I will. Bread was okay. Chicken was meaty. Overall okay fast food. Price was reasonable.
I love this location! I live about a block away and this is my go to on 2nd street! I've been eating at Dave's for the last few years and used to drive all the way to seal Beach to pick this up. This location is better, somehow the french fries are more crispy and the staff is really on point! The restaurant is clean, and people are usually pretty quick on helping you out.
Love it so happy there's one near us we try it fist is San Diego and we moved to Long Beach so happy the food so good fast service! I had no waiting time love to order through the Yelp so no line I had to wait on !thank you daves chicken !
Food is always good but a little expensive. I wish they gave out a bit more fries with every order. :)
I tried Dave's hot chicken for the first today and it was very tasty. I do recommend the #2 with the sliders it was delicious. The chicken is yummy and I love that they give you pickles with the food. Although I'm not sure how long your supposed to wait to get your food I waited 20 minutes for my food to be ready. I suggest maybe placing the order before u get there instead of placing the order when your there and skipping the wait time. Other than that everything else is fantastic and I love their fries too!
So glad this spot opened up on 2nd st. The chicken is amazing. Not the biggest selection, but all the food is fire. And they are open late
TLDR: Maybe hype only works against you here. Is this better than the readily available Popeye's sandwich? Not by a long shot. It's probably "as good" in its own way. But when you're neck and neck with the national chain on flavor, cost is your only other competitive advantage. Of course Dave's is $1-2 more so it's up to you if it's worth the difference.
