Had I reviewed Dave's Hot Chicken earlier, I would've granted 4 stars. However, they've recently removed cauliflower as an alternative to chicken. As such, while their chicken is quite good, and the spice level options are beyond compare...the lack of a vegetarian option means they've become just another chicken outlet, no longer a destination.

I want to write a review about your location in NYC- 3rd Ave. The people behind the counter are always so awesome, kind, and amazing of course so is your food!! I like that you can get no spice or as much spice as you like. I wish I knew how to write to management about it. The guy who just helped me is awesome and deserves to be recognized!

Excellent service. Crispy chicken. Good amount of spice (I only got hot and was pleased). Inside is clean. Can't complain. This is easily one of the top fried chicken spots. I'll be returning here for sure.

Had Dave's in MA a few years ago and started noticing locations in NYC. Needed something quick and this one is not far from the Metropolitan Museum. The chicken pieces were larger and meaty in the 2 tenders, fries with a piece of bread combo ($12.99); probably why adding a tender is $5.99. This is compared to the regular-sized ones in the 2 slider combo ($14.99). Sliders had sauce, slaw and pickles. I asked how they add the spice and was told it was added onto the chicken, not a sauce I could ask for on the side. I asked ... read more
