TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I ordered the Dave Combo #3 Medium spicy. The medium spicy is a "hot" at most other places. The size of the tenders were large and cooked well. When I arrived it was moderately busy but got to order quickly. Overall everything tasted very good and I would go back but not a place I'm dying to return as soon as possible. The combo cost me just over $15 so it is slightly expensive for the food you're getting. They give you extra sauce at no charge which these days is always a positive. I ordered medium and spicy . It was super delicious I have to say. Being a first generation American from Taiwan, I grew up with restaurants and street food vendors sautéing their fried chicken/popcorn chicken in several ways so I thought I've had the best fried chicken I can find. When I tried the medium, I was impressed with the sweetness and unique flavor and was like damnnnnn!!!! The spicy was good too, but I was too weak to handle it so had to eat it slowly with soda. Must try: Slider w/ Fries! Why: The large fried chicken inside the slider was juicy tender! I also added cheese on the chicken because I love cheese. I appreciated the extra pickles that came on the side. The fries were crispy with a little seasoning and tasted delicious dipping in Dave's Sauce.
