Opening Day has arrived at Daves! I know the team has been working hard and diligently to get out some good chicken. Waited in line for 3 1/2 hours to get some very mediocre food. I want to also give them some grace, and not necessarily leave a bad review because I can understand how overwhelming an opening of a new restaurant can be. We tried Dave's because we were going to see my parents. As we walked up one employee handed a guy his order and apologized for the wait as they had been swamped by a large order. When we stepped inside we were going to order at the counter, ask a few questions, but the only employee we could see at that time was busy with drive through. Eventually we gave up and used one of the self order screens. I will say all the food was freshly fried. The fries are crinkle cut and were nicely crispy. Service was slooooow. I remember pulling up and being excited because it didn't look too busy. Maybe 3 or 4 orders ahead of mine on the screen. Not bad. I STILL ended up waiting about 30 minutes for my simple chicken sandwich meal. I even tipped on the screen when ordering. I had to hurry out because my lunch break was almost finished. I first discovered this chain when I saw this location open up in a nearby lot across the street from where I was one night. The wind from an incoming rainstorm knocked over the giant inflatable chicken outside. I made up my mind right then and there to stop by for a visit one day. When I finally got around to giving it a try, I dined in and was only semi-pleased. The staff were very nice, as the district manager was there at the time. went through drive-through, the female, taking our order was very inattentive she started talking about her DoorDash order to another coworker, while taking our order left us hanging in for about 10 minutes. when we get over to the window, they had to verify our order three times then had us pull around in a parking spot to wait for our order (no problem) but when we got the order this is how I got it, dirty bag! I was excited to try the new mozzarella sticks. I ordered a 3 count of them and a 10 piece tender. Upon arriving to the store, there was nobody at the register. I patiently waited about 5 minutes and still nothing. I saw that my order was on the pickup shelf so i grabbed it and went to my car. Upon entering my car, I opened my container and saw there was only 2 mozzarella sticks - good thing I checked. So i went back inside, waited a little more hoping someone would come to help. I ordered 3 mozzarella sticks and there was only two in the box so i went back and waited 10 minutes then someone finally came out and gave me another one. When I got home and started eating them. I realized the one I had to ask for was empty. I also ordered a 10 piece chicken tenders they tasted good but thrown in the box with the bread.. The girl huffed and puffed when I asked for one more mozzarella stick. I would write zero stars if I could.
