Really clean place , the staff is hot or miss some are very friendly some not so much, they have a lot of different classes all of them are great I love the spin class and the hot yoga personally . The pools are awesome one is for doing laps and the other is for chilling and they have water aerobics, they have a great cafe although the food has dropped off in the last few months maybe due to a staff change so avoid that part but the grab and go and the smoothies are great so are the girls who work up front. The only other do... read more

This is definitely more of a social club than it is a health club! The cardio equipment is fantastic and plentiful while the weight room is more of a joke as it it tiny and gets crowded real fast. I have had some great massages there however I find DC Ranch Health Club and Spa membership to be a very poor value!

Business response:

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed in your membership. We are certainly a social club, yet with over 84,000 square feet we have plenty of room for fitness and other health club amenities. We have several areas in the club for resistance training besides just the weight room. We have a kinesis resistance training wall upstairs with other resistance equipment as well. We also offer several muscle and weight resistance classes to meet our members needs. With all of our fitness offerings, social and golf events and spa serv... read more

Village health clubs did not deliver for me. After 6 months here here are my takeaways. Positives: *Friendly staff *lies in beautiful setting of the McDowell mountains *Close to home *sophisticated community center vibes with multiple scheduled activities for children and adults Negatives: *cleanliness, on any given day it is not unusual to find debris in the women's locker room and towels left all of over the fitness floor. Perhaps people accidentally drop things or even mistakenly believe at this price point someone should... read more

Business response:

Sabrina, We apologize for the experience you had here at the Village. In addition to our normal cleaning measures, we added additional staff for deep cleaning and disinfecting throughout the club from opening to close, as well as, electrostatic handheld sprayers to disinfect the club. It is always our goal to provide our members with the best experience possible and appreciate your feedback. We will be retraining our staff on the proper cleaning measures to make sure there is no lapse in their cleaning throughout the club.... read more

I promptly cancelled my membership after today's experience. Attempted to work out on a cardio machine. The screen froze. No problem. Explained to the person cleaning the machine what had happened. I moved on to a different machine. Same problem. Screen froze. Again told the attendant cleaning the equipment. Moved on to the third machine. Much to my amazement she cleaned those machines and put a clean sign on it for others to use the broken equipment. On the third machine when only the tv didn't work on it I decided that I c... read more

Business response:

John, sorry to hear you had equipment issues at our club. Glad that you were able to discuss further with our General Manager about your issue and experience with our staff. We take hospitality very seriously here at the Village. We strive to treat our members like family and help them when they need it. We are sorry to see you leave the club after this incident as that is not how we treat our members. As far as the equipment goes, we have assessed the machines that you referenced and all electronic issues are resolved. The ... read more

This is the best location of both in Scottsdale by far. After this location the other in GR will not compare and it will be difficult to enjoy your membership... just saying. I wish I could say something different!

Lack of service at Tennis Center, DC Ranch. Dave C., Tennis Director, has made our tennis experience less than optimal. Dave may be a good tennis player; however his leadership, communication, and personality skills are lacking. Dave is not welcoming to new members or seasoned members. He does not greet people, rather ignores them, talks down to them and comes across with an arrogant attitude. I don't believe I have ever seen him smile. He is not a "service oriented" individual. Does not return emails or phone calls. Many me... read more

I joined last year because I moved across the street in Windgate ranch. I bought a family membership and went regularly. The facility is clean but has minimal weight equipment. I accepted the short comings because it was so close and well kept. I almost never received the guest passes promised and had to always ask. I left Scottsdale for the summer and put my membership on hold - $54 month. I mixed up my last days at the club and ended coming in two days after my membership expired. The staff treated me like a criminal and t... read more

Business response:

Eric, I am sorry that your experience here was an unsatisfactory one. Here at the Village, we take customer service very seriously and want our members to feel at home in our clubs. As for your concern about our freeze policy, we do provide the option for members with frozen accounts to visit twice per month with a guest pass. We do not send out guest passes, but guest passes are available upon request.

I've been a member at the Village at DC Ranch for about a year and not only has my monthly membership gone up but my monthly kids club has risen significantly without my knowledge. The clubs bathrooms and locker rooms are outdated and for the price they should be on top of that. The reason I stay is the convenience of the location and the openness feeling of the gym. My young daughter loves it here too.

Business response:

Heather, Thank you for voicing your concerns. I would like to let you know that we are currently meeting with all of the youth services directors to review our current policies. Once a final decision has been made regarding food in our child care areas, we will let the members know about any changes, if any, to our current policy. Thank you for being a member and I hope to see you around the club!
