Used to be so great! The locker room reno took away everything that was great. Can't even find an outlet to plug in a curling iron

Business response:

Cindy, we are surprised by your locker room review as we have been getting so much positive feedback from the renovation. We would like to offer you a tour of the new locker room to show you where you can find an outlet for your curling iron and to review all the new recovery offerings now available to you. Your fellow members are really enjoying the Hybrid Infrared Rock Sauna, cold plunge and the relaxation room. Please reach out to our GM, Jim Krimbill to schedule having a tour to get familiar with the new locker room. You... read more

Village used to be great. Unfortunately a lot of the management is quite rude now, and they keep lying about when the sauna and steam rooms will be open. Originally said at the end of January and then anytime someone asks they say tomorrow but it's never tomorrow. Doesn't really make sense. Also for months they said they were going to bring back 10pm closing time but doesn't seem like they will. A group of 15 of us are about to switch to lifetime which is a bummer because this place used to be so great.

Business response:

Matthew, unfortunately there were some last-minute delays with the opening of the final part of the locker rooms and the date did slip. The good news is that they are open and members are loving the new space for recovery. I hope that you and your friends will check out your new locker rooms and keep your membership with the club.

I would not recommend taking fencing lessons here. The instructor, Jim Barbour, can be rude and condescending. During a tournament, he physically placed his hands on a student's head, turned it in different directions while speaking and said, "Did I not tell you to follow these instructions?" He's also made comments to his students implying they were "stupid" and has openly complained about the front desk not following his instructions. This behavior is disrespectful and unprofessional! Overall I've learned more from a goldf... read more

Really clean place , the staff is hot or miss some are very friendly some not so much, they have a lot of different classes all of them are great I love the spin class and the hot yoga personally . The pools are awesome one is for doing laps and the other is for chilling and they have water aerobics, they have a great cafe although the food has dropped off in the last few months maybe due to a staff change so avoid that part but the grab and go and the smoothies are great so are the girls who work up front. The only other do... read more

This is definitely more of a social club than it is a health club! The cardio equipment is fantastic and plentiful while the weight room is more of a joke as it it tiny and gets crowded real fast. I have had some great massages there however I find DC Ranch Health Club and Spa membership to be a very poor value!

Business response:

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed in your membership. We are certainly a social club, yet with over 84,000 square feet we have plenty of room for fitness and other health club amenities. We have several areas in the club for resistance training besides just the weight room. We have a kinesis resistance training wall upstairs with other resistance equipment as well. We also offer several muscle and weight resistance classes to meet our members needs. With all of our fitness offerings, social and golf events and spa serv... read more

Village health clubs did not deliver for me. After 6 months here here are my takeaways. Positives: *Friendly staff *lies in beautiful setting of the McDowell mountains *Close to home *sophisticated community center vibes with multiple scheduled activities for children and adults Negatives: *cleanliness, on any given day it is not unusual to find debris in the women's locker room and towels left all of over the fitness floor. Perhaps people accidentally drop things or even mistakenly believe at this price point someone should... read more

Business response:

Sabrina, We apologize for the experience you had here at the Village. In addition to our normal cleaning measures, we added additional staff for deep cleaning and disinfecting throughout the club from opening to close, as well as, electrostatic handheld sprayers to disinfect the club. It is always our goal to provide our members with the best experience possible and appreciate your feedback. We will be retraining our staff on the proper cleaning measures to make sure there is no lapse in their cleaning throughout the club.... read more

I promptly cancelled my membership after today's experience. Attempted to work out on a cardio machine. The screen froze. No problem. Explained to the person cleaning the machine what had happened. I moved on to a different machine. Same problem. Screen froze. Again told the attendant cleaning the equipment. Moved on to the third machine. Much to my amazement she cleaned those machines and put a clean sign on it for others to use the broken equipment. On the third machine when only the tv didn't work on it I decided that I c... read more

Business response:

John, sorry to hear you had equipment issues at our club. Glad that you were able to discuss further with our General Manager about your issue and experience with our staff. We take hospitality very seriously here at the Village. We strive to treat our members like family and help them when they need it. We are sorry to see you leave the club after this incident as that is not how we treat our members. As far as the equipment goes, we have assessed the machines that you referenced and all electronic issues are resolved. The ... read more

This is the best location of both in Scottsdale by far. After this location the other in GR will not compare and it will be difficult to enjoy your membership... just saying. I wish I could say something different!
