This happy Canadian plans every holiday with a focus on fitness clubs in the cities we visit. DC Ranch Village Healthy Club is absolutely the BEST club we have been to and we return to it each and every year, everyday of our holiday. This trip it was the very first place we went to after leaving the airport. At DC Ranch you will find the latest equipment, incredible helpful and pleasant staff. The facility has more classes than we can fit in during a holiday, incredible steam and saunas, access to bicycles to enjoy th... read more

This facility is beautiful. Membership was about 200$ met month in early 2015. Start up cost over 500$. The best thing about this place was their variety of yoga and the number of yoga classes-hot and regular. Both hot and regular rooms were the best I'd ever been in and I've tried many places in various cities. I'm thinking about re-joining.

Serious fitness buffs should be warned that this is a very family oriented facility. It is not designed for serious athletes. You will be competing with little kids for the racquetball courts etc. The place definitely targets families of all ages. I gave it 3 stars because they don't enforce their own rules about what ages can use the fitness equipment, go on the basketball courts unaccompanied or reserve racquetball courts.

Extremely tired unzippy decor. Thick hairspray air walking through the salon area to enter and leave .Cheap jewelry and Knick knacks for sale. Crowded classes. Complicated to join with entry fees. Big show of having a counter with outlets calling it a work area If you want a far easier ( and while not fancy... nicer environment ) experience - try lifetime. May not be as clubby with so many neighbors but there's a downside to clubby. Really feels like they are after every nickel.

Business response:

We have two entrances to the DC Ranch location; our main entrance does not take you through the spa. Our boutique offers both affordable jewelry and seasonal items that are very popular among members. We also sell a variety of high-end clothes like Travis Mathews and Vuori. The Village focuses on building a community with our members by offering both fitness and social activities.

The services have been in a steady decline. Experienced serious issues over last few years. Issues with over-billing (charging), kids club, cleanliness etc. not worth the money they want for their services.

Business response:

Dee, back in 2022 you shared how you have been a member for over 20 years and gave us 5 stars and mentioned how happy you were with our classes, wellness and kids club. We would like to work with you directly to resolve your issues and concerns. Any billing issues can be reviewed with our Club Accountant, and we would be happy to review your charges with you to make sure there are not any issues. For your other concerns, could you please contact the club GM, Jim Krimbill, with more information so we can address them? He can ... read more

Used to be so great! The locker room reno took away everything that was great. Can't even find an outlet to plug in a curling iron

Business response:

Cindy, we are surprised by your locker room review as we have been getting so much positive feedback from the renovation. We would like to offer you a tour of the new locker room to show you where you can find an outlet for your curling iron and to review all the new recovery offerings now available to you. Your fellow members are really enjoying the Hybrid Infrared Rock Sauna, cold plunge and the relaxation room. Please reach out to our GM, Jim Krimbill to schedule having a tour to get familiar with the new locker room. You... read more

Village used to be great. Unfortunately a lot of the management is quite rude now, and they keep lying about when the sauna and steam rooms will be open. Originally said at the end of January and then anytime someone asks they say tomorrow but it's never tomorrow. Doesn't really make sense. Also for months they said they were going to bring back 10pm closing time but doesn't seem like they will. A group of 15 of us are about to switch to lifetime which is a bummer because this place used to be so great.

Business response:

Matthew, unfortunately there were some last-minute delays with the opening of the final part of the locker rooms and the date did slip. The good news is that they are open and members are loving the new space for recovery. I hope that you and your friends will check out your new locker rooms and keep your membership with the club.

I would not recommend taking fencing lessons here. The instructor, Jim Barbour, can be rude and condescending. During a tournament, he physically placed his hands on a student's head, turned it in different directions while speaking and said, "Did I not tell you to follow these instructions?" He's also made comments to his students implying they were "stupid" and has openly complained about the front desk not following his instructions. This behavior is disrespectful and unprofessional! Overall I've learned more from a goldf... read more
