I recently moved to NC and could not wait to go in DeWaynes Christmasland store … it’s a magical place to see! But I am NOT HAPPY today! When you buy something in a store, you fully expect to be able to return it if you choose to. This is a CHRISTMAS store and they do not take CHRISTMAS items back after December 15! A very well-known business down the road from us also doesn't allow returns on Christmas items after 12/15, so it's not just us! Terrible customer service, particularly the management. Recently I wanted to exchange a pair of shoes and was told that the shoes were non-returnable because they looked worn. The shoes were purchased a day before and were new with the tags. Three different employees looked at the shoes including the male manager. My family and I spend money, almost weekly, at Dewaynes and after this service today, that will change. They have always been our go-to for purchasing Hey Dude shoes but no longer. Our Return Policy is posted at Customer Service and is printed on the back of your receipt, stating "Refunds are available when the item is in new, unused and resalable condition with original tags & packaging, accompanied by receipt within 14 days of purchase." Very disappointed in the boutique , plenty of staff but not much attention or friendliness. Nice inventory of clothes but the attitude of staff was a big turn off.

Yesterday I brought my family to shop for Christmas decorations as they are moving to the area and wanted to find a one stop Christmas shop. We had a cart full of items (and if you’ve shopped here before, you know that’s worth several hundred dollars) in addition to needing to exchange some garland that was broken out of the box. I bought a pair of Olukai shoes around Christmas and they did not fit comfortably. I didn't want a refund just to exchange and was told I could not because it had been over 30 days and the shoe had been discontinued. The shoe style was the Pehuea leather and has not been discontinued because I received a spring catalog recently and this style was in it. I don’t shop here often, and when I have in the past I normally never have any issues. Today, however, I just felt that the associate I was working with didn’t really want to help me. I felt that throughout our interaction I was having to ask for service.
