Wanna-be-techifiction of the property management. Communication is nigh to impossible. I would ask specific questions and get chat-gpt answers. I requested to speak directly to a person but never did. I took time off work to attend a viewing but they stood me up. I m glad we found a different property with a real life management company. Avoid Doorstead.
Doorstead is the worst business of any kind that I have encountered in more than 30 years as a real estate and mortgage professional. Their incompetence is beyond belief and their system is hopelessly broken. Whether tenant or owner run, don't walk from this company.
Absolutely terrible. They took forever to fix anything if they even did fix it. The dishwasher was broken and they didn’t want to fix it. The washing machine was broken and they never fixed it. It’s impossible to actually get on the phone with someone who can help you. Price is ridiculous. They tried to take almost 1300 dollars from our security deposit. But when I kept repeating back to them the laws for CA regarding wear and tear etc they finally gave us back most of our money. Just ridiculous
Not sure who to name because my simple request to tour a local rental (MA) was an epic failure. I received a text from the 415 area code (CA) asking me which property I would like to see. The rental market in Massachusetts requires lots of daily property inquiries so I would not know which one came from a California management company. Horrible experience with doorstead!! Contacted the company to schedule a walk through. Took them about a week to get something finalized. Finally got to the house and the person who was showing the place was late. Appointment was at 4, they didn’t show up until 4:30. She let us in the property but not the house and to my surprise, was not able to answer any questions. She knew nothing about the place and had to read off zillow to answer questions. I hired Doorstead to simply list my home with Zillow. However, after 2 months and almost no showings, I decided to remove the listing. I messaged my account director and the support group... They responded they would get back to me within 1-2 business days. Its been 10 days, with no contact. I've emailed the account director and the support desk every day and left numerous voice mails. This company is fully automated. I never spoke to an actual person. Only received text messages from their automated system. It took 3 attempts to even get an actual viewing date. And when the system finally gave me one it confirmed me for a date I didn’t even ask for. I’ve since done some reading on this company and the reviews from other people’s experiences are the same as mine or worse if they got Involved on the property management side of this business. I’m not loving it so far - and people showed up to our house but a realtor never did which was odd - so for us so far we aren’t impressed Hopefully it will get better and I would gladly change my rating but the only thing they keep telling us is to lower our rent
Vlad is a racist. When I showed up for the tour he looked at me with a face of disgust and rolled his eyes. He rushed to the elevator and didn’t even want to make eye contact. I was so uncomfortable that I even asked him if everything was okay. He said yes that he was just tired.
