I didn’t even get to rent a listing because of this company’s complete ineptitude and nonexistent communication. I waited days to set up a showing and never got a response from them, and then after persisting to try to get a response from them they informed me they had paused showings because they had an applicant. This is the worst management that I have dealt with in my entire life. Doesn’t deserve any customers in both the homeowners and the tenants. Stay away from this company at all cost if you don’t want to deal with daily headaches cleaning up after their poor work. They are unprofessional not only in their renovation and maintenance, but also very irresponsible when it comes to difficult situations that they are at fault. Applying for a rental was not a smooth process with Doorstead. The online form is very efficient for scheduling a showing. However, they contract a real estate agent to do the showing, who while friendly, was not knowledgable about the place beyond what is shown in the listing. Doorstead is a horrible company to work with as a landlord. Stay away from their guranteed rent . They ended up putting 6 different individuals in my home. When they vacated my house was a mess and we ended up paying out of pocket for expenses. Overall it was a loss renting our property through them.
Arguably the worst property management experience that I've ever had. This company is great when you are moving into an apartment and then become a nightmare. They assume that all issues in the apartment are your fault, they will charge you for everything. You will never get to speak to a live human being and they will always prioritize the landlord. DO. NOT. DO. IT. It’s been FOUR DAYS of informing Doorstead that we have a mice problem and have not received any kind of empathy or clear solutions. They want us to cook in our kitchen where we found mice and mice droppings under our stove, they are saying it’s okay for us to get sick. Doorstead managed my rental property in Southern California for ~1 year, and it was the worst property management experience I’ve ever had (I’ve been a landlord a few years with multiple rentals). Doorstead was very helpful and responsive during the application process, but has completely fallen off after that. Simple maintenance tickets take weeks to be addressed, if at all. Communication is poor. I have one ticket that was submitted over a month ago that still has no reply even after I followed up via email and tried to call. Now one of our doors is broken - I have tried calling both their normal phone number as well as the "24 hour/urgent" line multiple times and nobody answers either of them.
