Be wary at this Veterinary clinic!!! They WILL try to up sell you on everything. Doing unnecessary tests to up the bill- suggesting things to up sell you. Just be smart here. They are very nice, however, when you tell them no. Which is a plus. Ask questions here. That is my best suggestion. They are very sweet to the animals. That part is good.
My cat was misdiagnosed by Dr. Lopez who replaced Dr. Martinez and my cat died. This was preventable. Dr. Martinez was great. I knew the moment I left the office that Dr. Lopez was not experienced enough or knew what she was doing. But since she was the doctor I listened to her which was my mistake. My cat died of upper respiratory tract infection which was preventable. He had the same infection when Dr. Martinez was working there and he cured my cat with antibiotics but Dr. Lopez did not prescribe any meds and killed my ... read more
Worst Veterinary experiance I've ever had. DO NOT GO HERE. Front desk was either on drugs or stupid and Dr Martinez was extremely rude and disrespectful. One star is generous.
Was recommended to this place by someone. Big mistake. Took dog in had a test done, never called me with results. I had to call them, them they couldn't talk to me, only the doctor could, but he wasn't in that day. 2 days later, still no call. Also, my dog's chewing issue is worse. I called, doctor won't be in until tomorrow. He can call me then, if I want to bring my dog in for a recheck for same issue, I have to pay for another office visit. My little, old, dog named Buddy is sick and I need some medication for him. Well, their vet called me late on July 2nd and said I could pick it up "anytime before 6 PM" on July 3rd. Getting there after work was a challenge to me but I made it on time only to find out they had closed at 1 PM for the 4th of July holiday. There was a handwritten sign on their door with that information on it. No one told me or I would have made arrangements to get there before 1 PM. Now Buddy has to suffer for another two days. warning!!!!worst animal hospital ever in the 805!!!!! this facility allows pets to have intercourse before getting fixed and is so unorganized they called me to tell me i'll be getting charged for a no show while i was already in the room with the vet. worst staff on the planet out of all animal care facilities. never! ever! ever go here if you want your animals in safe care. Didn't even offer a reimbursement!!!! Worst decision I ever made when it comes to vets!

East Ventura has uncomfortable waiting area and is regularly dirty, as are the examining rooms. They also seem to be overly committed to selling their insurance policy which is good only for well care visits. They don't hesitate to remind you when expired. Veterinarian talked us into getting pet insurance. Then she recommended to us that our pet needed his teeth cleaned and a few removed. When we went to have the procedure done, she said that we owed another $481.00 because our insurance didn't cover tooth extraction. This is bullshit!!! the Vet should have known what the insurance covered before talking us into the plan. I would never ever recommend this place to any one. The Vets commit fraud and don't care. They are a bunch of crooks. They should be politicians.
After 3 days of a sick dog, I took my pooch to East Ventura Veterinarian Hospital for an evaluation. Following a quick exam and a single x-ray, Dr. Martinez told me my dog had an intestinal obstruction. He was so confident of his diagnosis; he wanted to do emergency surgery that afternoon. The surgery involved slicing my dog's belly open from end to end and pulling her intestines out to locate the obstruction. The price tag: $4,000-$7,000. After reviewing your chart, I saw Dr. Martinez did recommend an abdominal ultrasound for a more definitive diagnosis. Dr. Martinez did take radiographs and did see evidence of what appeared to be a possible obstruction. Radiographs can be not as definitive as we would like in some cases.
