My dog needed a nail trim, but when resisting instead of communicating they put a muzzle on her where she still proceeded to resist and it led to her ripping off her toe nail.

Business response:

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and about your dog’s injury. That is certainly not the outcome we ever want, and we understand how upsetting this must have been for you. For the safety of both pets and staff, muzzles are sometimes used when a pet is showing signs of fear or resistance, but they are never intended to replace communication or gentle handling. Nail trims can unfortunately carry risk when a pet is highly stressed or struggling, even when precautions are taken. Our assistant manager has already s... read more

I don't say this lightly; They employ some of the worst people in the world to be working in vetinary care. Rude staff. Cold. Heartless. Don't bring a pet you love and care about to this disgraceful place. Multiple stories from multiple clients about them doing more harm than good to their pets, then the front desk behaves unprofessional to a point of cruelty when their clients point out how they've failed their pets. Can't say enough bad things about this place, will have you leave feeling sick to your stomach. Go to a vet ... read more

Worst vet experience of my life. My dog has no more hearing because of this vet. Rude staff. Heartless. Could care less how they themselves cause injury to your dog. Then you get no apology. They mock you, then delete your honest reviews on their horrible business cuz they can't handle simply firing staff for not behaving professionally. They made my dog lose its hearing and then their receptionist jumped into a conversation that I wasn't even having with him, mocked me about it and told me to get out when I was in tears com... read more

Be careful, they do everything in their power to delete their bad reviews and hide the horrible experiences people have had with them! This vet is on another level of unprofessionalism. They made my dog lose its hearing and then their receptionist mocked me about it and told me to get out when I was in tears complaining about it. They're not simply rude, they are heartless, cruel, unsympathetic and half this staff should not be allowed to be working with animals. DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PETS TO THESE DISGUSTING PEOPLE.

I have read the response from the veterinary clinic. I never once yelled at Brandon and upon leaving, he laughed at me so I turned around and told him don't you dare laugh. I feel his attitude was snarky and very unprofessional as well. As for the customer who said she'd been there over 20 years and watched Brandon and how professional he was I believe it was an exaggeration on her part as when I was there, she said she had been a customer for 15 years, not 20 and in no way was Brandon professional... he was sarcastic and ... read more

We are so sorry for the loss of Luca. Losing a beloved family member is incredibly hard, and you have our deepest sympathy. Regarding your Paw Plan, the monthly payment helps spread the cost of preventive care over a year. Because discounted services were used at the time of enrollment, there can still be a balance even if a pet passes away before the plan term ends. This is well explained in the contract that was signed when Luca was signed up. We also want to address your recent visit. Another long-time client who witn... read more

In June took our very sick dog in for exam. One of the veterinarian assistance advised us to look into the insurance plan called paw plans. Knowing that we would need continuing care we signed up. That day we were charged for various procedures as well as the paw plan over $600.02 weeks later our dog stopped eating and drinking. We took him to an emergency pet hospital where they told us he had a mast cell tumor . Sadly, we had him put down. We miss him. The following Monday day we called the veterinarians office and let the... read more

I have to add that I don't believe their other so called exotic vet knows what she's doing with guinea pigs. She couldn't examine one's teeth and said she had a cataract when she doesn't. Maybe she's good with rabbits or some other exotic animal, but not guinea pigs. I run a sanctuary and have picked up on a lot over the years. I'm not an expert, but I was uncomfortable with getting a bill with hardly anything checked and things ignored. I greatly missed Dr. Bloedel when he was on temporary leave and am glad he's back.

Business response:

We appreciate your feedback, Rynn. We will take your comments into consideration and strive to improve our services for small animals. If you have any further concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at (805) 647-8430.

I used this veterinary practice for approximately 5 years and was happy with the care my dog received until I needed to take him in for a problem he had after having his anal glands expressed. He was chewing his rear end and started scooting again. In addition he was very lethargic. When I called to see if I could bring him in I was told they couldn't see him for 2 weeks, but he would be put on a cancellation list. So much for emergency care! Will I be going back .... No way. I called another clinic and got him in with... read more

I've been taking my guinea pigs here since 2009. The office staff used to be professional and empathetic. Not anymore. They are rude on the phone and in person and they do not take the care of small animals very seriously. While waiting to check out, I witnessed and elderly man, crying to office staff that his dog wasn't eating. The staff didn't even provide him with emergency vet info. They just told him to come back tomorrow. I started taking my dog here because of the history I had and because I loved Dr. Fowell (retired ... read more
