When I pay for a ticket to see a movie I would never expect to have to be interrupted by a fussing and crying baby. No disrespect to parents, however, have common courtesy for patrons. A movie theatre isn’t a place for a baby. Get a babysitter, leave child at home and enjoy a peaceful quiet evening out, like the quiet peaceful evening I was expecting. Hated it
I would have gave 5 stars but there were a few things that I can’t. Sound was low until movie and then at one point during the movie it was low we could barely hear. Then the lights came on for a moment. As well as it was freezing!
The box office was not open, we were told by 2 workers standing at the box office to buy our tickets at the concession stand. The line was about 3 deep. This would not have bothered me except now I had to wait while the 2 concession workers sold tickets, as people had to be shown and then selected available seats, then they ordered their popcorn, pizza, etc, paid, then asked again what theater they were in, what seats, because there was no printed tickets, we were barely seated by the time the movie started. My daughter and I went to the Emagine website to preorder tickets for MLK day. According to the website, almost the entire theater was sold out. We ended up paying $.50 more per ticket, plus a charge ($7.99?). Also, we had to split up. When we arrived and the movie started, the theater was only half full! After the movie, I asked one of the employees how this could happen. He responded that it showed all the seats were sold. This didn’t make sense to me. Anyway, we enjoyed the movie.
My father and I go to this movie theater at least once a week. This is mainly because of its location. I have been in contact with management and corporate headquarters about issues with The Rochester Hills locations. I understand no one is perfect, but while watching Mr. Glantz pride himself on how his movie theaters are clean, well-maintained and luxurious; we frequent movie theater goers have found it not so much. This was our first visit to Emagine so it was a bit confusing at first. Space seems dark (black&gray), Actual theatre numbers can be hard to locate. Restrooms far away from theatres. Very dark inside theatre before movie started and not all rows had clear labels. Lots of people had difficulty finding their seats. Creepy having a large man reclining next to me chewing loudly. Chair uncomfortable poor low back support. Not going back.

First, they tried to make things right by giving everyone a free movie... but... when you are forced to evacuate the theater in sub zero temps outside you should provide more information about what is going on. It was a 45 minute delay in the movie (The Last Jedi) not all of which was outside but other than the announcement that "you must exit the theater" there was not ONE announcement saying the issue was resolved or that the movie would restart in "X" minutes so please return to your seats.
