If I could give negative stars, I would. Encompass Health of Plano is an absolute disgrace to the word "rehabilitation." It's more like a warehouse for vulnerable patients where compassion is nonexistent and rudeness is the daily special. My husband, a stroke survivor, went in needing support, dignity, and competent care. What he got was a team of people who acted like he was a burden from day one. My family member was NOT given the kind of care and attention and patience promised on the website for a person with neurological issues resulting from a traumatic brain injury. Individually, the personnel I encountered were polite and caring, but overall the care was very lacking. They dismissed my family member basically after 4 days saying he would be released the following week. Instead of careful consideration of his condition due to his brain injury, he was not helped. I actually had to deal with TWO different encompass rehabs. And while i can admit i feel my mother was in the wrong place for the services she needed. HOWEVER, the first one being in Fort Worth was maybe 3 stars. The one in PLANO 1 STAR, Brandon was the only positive experience and he was in training for the actual rehab part. Now, for the nurses and staff outside of him, HORRIFIC, when you could find them. My mothers button when pressed on three different occasions three different days stay lit over 20 minutes, and one nigh... read more

My 81 year old father came to Encompass after surgery on his leg. He also had been diagnosed with a heart condition. With both the leg surgery and heart condition, he was put on a blood thinner to prevent blood clots. During his time at Encompass, he had a medical emergency and had to be transferred to the hospital. The doctors at the hospital temporarily stopped the blood thinner to run some tests, and they discovered he had an esophageal ulcer (that was previously undiagnosed) that had started bleeding due to the blood thi... read more

I would avoid this rehab at all costs for a loved one. The facility is understaffed with uncompassionate staff including nurses who are not interested in helping patients. We admitted our loved one late in the afternoon and were dismayed at the lack of professionalism and disregard to the respect of the patient. The shared room looked like it had not been cleaned before admission with a dirty floor, bathroom and table that had not been wiped clean from the previous occupant.
