Check casa COLINA in Pomona if you want to know what a REAL REHAB HOSPITAL DOES. Health south is the only game in Orange County - but it's not a good one. Inferior care and practioners. Worst food I ever had, been in there twice. It declined so much over the years and no improvement. Check this hospital's practioners! they will change your meds and make changes that your primary care physician would not agree to, but you won't have a choice. My Mom was sent here due to back and spine surgery, the treatment was awful. She was called fat and the she was to big to handle. She is not FAT. She was told by 2 nurses that she had a big butt. Then they couldn't even give her a bath. She went 1 week without and the only reason she finally got one was that I told them I was going to and then they said I wasn't trained. The nurse started the bath and then left my mom unattended, I finished the bath. When it came to meds I had to keep everything straight, they weren't e... read more

My Mom was sent here due to back and spine surgery, the treatment was awful. She was called fat and the she was to big to handle. She is not FAT. She was told by 2 nurses that she had a big butt. I had a two level anterior fusion on Sept. 18. Then on Sept 20th I had a posterior two level operation (plates, rods, and screws) to secure the fusion. Late Sunday Sept 22 I was transferred to HealthSouth Tustin. It was a rat hole with care so barbaric I signed myself out against Doctor's orders on Tuesday morning Sept. 24th. The night before I tried to get out of bed but the control and call buttons were not working. I called out for ten minutes and finally a maintenance woman walked by the room and helped me out of bed. As the only other review Healthsouth states, the overall quality of care here is atrocious. One or two of the nurses were very caring and competent but most of the others actively ignore or berate the patients and have no business working in the health care industry. I was appalled to find my mother had routinely been forced to wait 30+ minutes to use the bathroom, and at one point had an entire night's worth of medication dumped on her tray because her nurse didn't want to deal with her. Possibly one of the MOST incompetent nursing staff I have ever experienced. BE WARNED!!! The admitting administration of facility will sell you on a good story of rehabilitation for the injured party, then completely mis-treat them and over medicate them. Do your injured family member and find a better care facility!
