Fine for a quick shopping or overnight trip This hotel is cheaper than other hotels in the area, and is not dangerous or dirty. It is a fine hotel for a one or two-night stay, but anything more would be a stretch. The neighborhood isn't great (in fact, it is next to a shelter). The staff, while attentive has a lot to deal with. The place definitely needs to be rennovated, as the halls look like they hasn't been remodeled in a decade.

Close to the Museum Great city, most of downtown is within walking distance. Try the Red Chair Restaurant on 4th Street! The weather was great: (T-shirt with a longsleeve shirt for layering). We saw a bear on the patio at the Native American Center. Saw the whales and tidal bore at Beluga Point. Took the tram up the mountain at the Aleyska Resort in Girdwood. Nice staff, room was Ok. finding some ones else's dinner and stuff in the refrigerator was icky. No ice machine or ice in the in room fridge.

The stay was nice. We had a great mountain view from the 4th floor. Parking was disappointing. Proximity to downtown was great. Lots of road construction right next to the hotel while we were there made getting around kind of inconvenient when driving to it.
