Ann Arbor Trip I did not have a car, so I depended on Taxi and friends and the bus. The Briarwood Mall was just 4 minute walk away. Also it was site of Bus stop which provided excellent service to downtown Ann Arbor. But Mall opened at 10 and restaurant in Mall open at 10:30. Hotel breakfast was apple or orange, coffee, packaged (sugary oatmeal and sugar oat bars) Coffee was good. Without a car it was difficult to buy groceries. No retail food in the Mall. Good for the price A pretty average place in all aspects. They were a little skimpy on their "breakfast" and had some shady characters hovering around the front desk area at night. The staff was very nice. Everything was pretty clean.

Winter Classic stay Room was clean, well maintained. Staff were friendly. Heavy traffic and bad weather on road during Winter Classic (shuttle stop was at Mall across the way) made it nearly impossible to leave to head out for dinner after the game. Good thing we ordered in. :)

comfortable stay We just needed a place to stay while in Ann Arbor for the Winter Classic. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable about the area. If you're looking for really fancy accommodations this is not the right hotel. However, if you just need a comfortable place to rest for the night this is a very good stay.

Good customer service The manager, Erica, is wonderful. After battling with the website that I used to make the reservation, she went above and beyond to allow me to cancel one night of my stay. I had it in writing that this was permissible. However, hotels.com apparently does not honor rules that they set and put in writing. I won't use hotels.com again . . . ever.

Sauna Checked in early, which was extremely helpful. Our room was disgustingly hot. Heater wasn't even on. Had to open both windows fully and turn on ac to try and cool it down. Ended up sleeping with windows open all night. Something seriously wrong with our room. Other then that everything was ok
