Nice, but has some issues to correct We booked based on the fact that it boasted a renovated appearance & the photos looked great. Yes, the hotel was in a good area that is still close to all that San Diego has to offer, however, there were several issues. First, we booked (and prepaid) a King Studio through Hotels.com. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was overbooked! They offered a queen studio, before asking that we move to a double room (with full-sized mattresses). This was unacceptable. I got a good rate because i booked a smoking room. Other than the awful smell (what do you expect from a smoking room) the stay was very nice. I would definitely stay again, but only if I got a non-smoking room.

There was no breakfastjust coffee and muffins that were old. Staff was slow and were always in their phones. My room was missing the handle on the bathroom door, and it couldnt close. The screen to the window had a hole in it. Asked for all the kitchen supplies and no tpaster was given.

After first night I noticed roaches, stove wasn't working, no phone, and room smelled of mold/mildew. After complaining I was moved to a different room however it was extremely difficult to get items they advertise as part of the room including blow dryer, iron, housekeeping, or even linen to change it out myself. I've heard that each location is different because of management however the stay at this location put a bad taste in my mouth for ALL locations. The property is old and very dated. The kitchen sink was dirty. The refrigerator wasn’t cold. The AC was turned all the way down to 60 degrees, but the room was still hot. The hallways smelled like smoke. The bathroom sink had cigarette burns. No amenities provided in the room, except for toilet paper, we had to ask for soap to wash our hands in the sink. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

I would NOT recommend this place. Looked beautiful on Expedia and it was a last minute booking. Front desk guy Bryce was wonderful for check in. It was convenient to all of our events and parking was nice because it's free and plentiful. After reading all the yelp reviews I can confirm: No roaches No mold Yes the whole entire building smells. My room had a weird scent made me feel nauseous all night. They don't have shampoo in the bathroom you have to ask for it. Our only bar soap in the tub was broken. There was NO ONE ther... read more
