Horrible Customer Service We were forced to wait 15 minutes for a staff member to check us in with no explanation given. The staff member on duty simply stayed in the back after acknowledging our walking in for 15 minutes before checking us in despite the fact we were the only people there. No apology was offered either then or at checkout.

The Homestead Washington DC Falls Church Bad sheets, bad bed, remote control not working. Not very comfortable overall. The hotel was in a convenient location and the fact that the room had a kitchen was nice although I was unable to use it. Primary problem was an uncomfortable bed. Investment in some decent sheets would go a long way.

OK set up... hotel was marginal - clean enough, but there were cigarette burns on bathroom sink, dirty washcloth over shower, broken door lock, and no supplies such as shampoo. Overall feel was of a place to stay if you are on a tight budget and need no creature comforts. On the positive side, was well located (metro only couple of miles away) and available (all rooms in area were getting booked up for rally in DC)

Expensive, no hot water 1st night. The hotel was at $100/night way too expensive. I had no idea that the rooms here would only be cleaned once a week. It's very basic and mostly construction workers etc stayed here (although that wasn't a problem). When I came into town, the first night there wasn't any hot water which is unacceptable and disappointing. The first 9 or so channels on the TV did not work (no ABC etc)......

I'd rather sleep in the car! I was on travel from work and arrived at this hotel too late to change to anything close by. The room smelled like dog urine, the bed sheets were stained, they didn't even have doors on the closets, there were holes in the walls. I seriously considered getting my money back and sleeping in the car. If only my car had a shower! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Okay for the purpose of sleeping....... VERY difficult to locate. Had a trip tik, but that wasn't helpful. Called the hotel and THEY couldn't give me directions, finally stopped at City Hall for assistance (thank Goodness for their staff). No shampoo, no creme rinse, no hairdryer in the holder (when requested one, it never showed). Would not do room service if staying less than 3 nights. Looks like an old Howard Johnson's that had been repainted and kitchenettes put into. Carpeting was pretty dingy. Alarm on radio didn't wor... read more

MIddle of the Road The area was very good, but the rooms were slightly "gritty". Most of the clientel that stays at this particular unit are workers. Beds were very worn out and even tattered (box springs)...cloth was delaminating from the box springs. Mattress was very uncomfortable with poor springs. Also, as I was checking in, I heard the clerk quoting the room price substantially lower. . .$84.00..I don't know if anyone actually booked at that price, but the quote was much lower than my room. Fairfax Homesead-Big Fat Dud They booked me in a smoking room, which I DID not reserve. Why would I? I have breathing problems, allergies and DONOTSMOKE! The clerk, assisant manager and general manager were NOT accomodating. In fact the general manager had a very nasty attitude. The hotel was less than acceptable, aside from the fact that they refused to refund my money or move me to another room. The walkways to the rooms smelled like filth an urine. Never Again There was nothing complimentary not even coffee in the morning. No place within walking distance for coffee or a meal or a snack. No fitness center and no pool. Strictly a place to sleep you need a vehicle to get anywhere. Room was clean however there was no maid service since I was only ataying 2 nights.
