TERRIBLE. Had thousands of dollars worth of my belongings stolen, including some sentimental items from my father who passed away. This happened several months ago, and the Extra Space storage staff didn't record the incident the THREE times my sister and I called about it. This has delayed insurance claims. It also made me very suspicious about the staff. They recently hired a new manager who seems much better, asked legitimate questions and actually recorded the incident of theft. *Expect your stuff to be STOLEN* They target units that are abandoned for a long time and that don't buy their insurance. I stored my stuff there when I was abroad and had items worth $1,500+ stolen. They were very sketchy about the details and refused to file a police report themselves.

My college-aged son and his roommate stored some of their belongings here over the summer. They purchased a lock from the facility, which came with 2 keys, both remaining in my son's possession. When they returned, they found several of their boxes missing - just the smaller/easy to carry ones, which not coincidentally included valuable electronic items. There was no sign of forced entry on the lock, so their insurance claim was just denied because the 'burglary' definition includes 'forced entry'. Obviously then some... read more

I reserved a spot 3 times. I go there during OPEN hours and no on is there. I then go back several days later and someone is there. So I try to go in and it's locked. I wait outside, and the person working didn't even make an effort to see if I needed help. He just sat there behind his desk. Obviously, this dude didn't need business or didn't even care.

I almost rented here. I got as far as going to the office, setting up a price, seeing the facility and putting out my credit card and reading the contract. What deterred me was the fact that their rates are designed to punish long term customers with no way to lock it in. Pretty silly to me. After 5 month, the rates increase and they only notify you by traditional mail. No email, no nothing. This doesn't work for me. It was too much hassle. Like others have reviewed, the main drawback here is the constantly rising prices. While positioned as "we find it necessary to make an adjustment to your rental rate in order to keep up with the rising costs associated with providing top-notch service and a clean, secure facility" in their rate increase notice, it's all about supply and demand and a worker there told me as much. I have been pretty happy with this company as a whole, so the two star rating is really over pricing. The MAJOR problem that have (and the reason why this is rated only 2 starts) is that they punish long term customers. Prices rise the LONGER you stay and that makes no sense. You get a great deal at Extra Space Storage if you stay for a month (practically FREE) or two (great rates) but after the 6 month mark prices rise and then do so at 12 months etc etc. To be fair, this is in the fine print, but had it been something... read more
