If I could give zero stars, I would. I want people to know exactly what Extra Space Storage did to my family. When I rented my 5x8 unit 12 months ago, the rate was $99/month plus insurance which was $119/mo. After only four months, they doubled the rent. Two months later, they raised it again to $235/month. When I first moved in to my 5x8 the rent was under $100. I have only been here for 12 months and already my rental fee has increased over 100%. I just got a notice that my November rent will be $223/mo outrageous. I complained to the agent at the front when my rent went up $60 months ago and he said yea that is more that he could even pay but there is no rent control on storage. So I am being hustled. They will increase almost 100% without proper notice when the law clearly states : Under California Civil Code Section 1947.12, tenants must be given 30 days notice for rent increases of less than 10% and 60 days notice if the increase exceeds this amount. If the proposed increase exceeds 10%, a longer notice period of 60 days applies under the same legislation. When you try to call it will loop you and not even allow you to contact a real human. We tried to move our property since Saturday the first.We were on the second floor and the elevator has been out since we started.It took us three days to lug it down the stairs.With the rates they charge everything should work fine.They have lost this customer for life and I will tell my friends and family to avoid this place no matter what!Very unhappy customer here.

As others have said, Clay and Jessica are very nice people and are happy to answer all questions pertaining to my storage unit needs. The facility was close to my home so made it very easy to access. The only problem that I encountered was that i started renting my unit in February 2023 for $217 per month. In June (4 months later) they hiked my rate by $100 to $317. I used this company to store my belongings for a year because of its location being near my home. WARNING due to it being month to month they up your price every so many months what started low turned into a ridiculous amount "due to prices in the area" which is not the case you can open a unit for the same price. Unfortunately I just had sell most of my belongings no way I was going to keep anything there any longer. Don't use them!! We were good tenants who always paid on time but they increased the bill 3 times within a year, without any warning, to a 40% overall increase. They also don't respond when questioned about it.

Read thru reviews because the common denominator is they get you in at a fair rate then raise it over 30-40%. My unit was $130 already had one increase since I signed-up. New rate $145 is now $225! Please do not insult your customers w-a response about real estate. Working in the business over 23 years w/our own tenants, I know what's fair and what is appropriate. You are taking advantage of people. Will be looking for a company that doesn't try to unfairly raise $. Not worth the amount of work it takes to move belongings.

No. Buyer Beware. I rented in August an 8x10 on 2nd floor for $155. Come January it's $235. I did not sign up for a promotional rate. I did not sign up online. At no time prior was I told this would occur.
