The rates go up every 6 months but nothing change in the space that your paying, there excuses is because they base the increase of space in the economy. but they don't think about the people who don't have the same privilege that they have and there corporations and is making money even if they don't charge the increase but they don't care because all think about is themselves and how to make more money and become more richer.

Thousands of cockroaches on the 3rd floor. I opened up my unit after being gone for 6 months and it is infested with little brown german cockroaches. They are in my boxes, in the clothes, everything is fucking junk now.

They raise your monthly shortly after you move in. It is in the fine print of your contract. Just a heads up: "Customer's Rental Terms May Change with 30 Days' Notice. Customer acknowledges this Lease is month to month and that Owner may change or increase Customer's Monthly Rental Charge, fees and charges, due to changes in market conditions or for any other reason at any time upon 30 days' notice to Customer."

i wish i could put a minus. never ever use extra space storage_ they constantly raise the rates!!! awful. before you know it it's double! they should be busted with a class action lawsuit.

The staff are friendly, and the facility is very clean. My issue is that I specifically went out of my way to utilize this facility based on the price they were offering. 2 months into my lease on this storage unit, and while on a extended deployment, I received an email notifying me that the rate was increasing $20 per month. That's a significant increase, especially less than 2 months into a lease after committing myself to putting my stuff here. Unreasonable rates for that area. They have the worst customer service !! All nice at the beginning and after you become a customer just really bad service !! Never again
I admit, I had high hopes for this facility. It was clean, the manager, Richelle, very nice. One thing they don't tell you, you have to pay THEIR insurance, the lowest is $13. (additional per month). I rented a 5x5 space, when I was shown the unit, I thought it looked small. I returned the next day and measured it at 4'10 x 3'9".(that was measuring inside the studs wall to wall and wall to where the door comes down) AND the roll-up door rolls to the inside of your unit taking even more space. Also, please know that you are not required to take our insurance if your home owners insurance covers your belongings. If you show the Site Manager a declaration of your insurance to show proof of coverage that will suffice.
I agree this is a quality place to store your items, but I don't agree with their 10% increase every 9 months. Within five years my rent will have doubled from $260 to $548. Check out Consumer Affairs and you'll see that this is a corporate decision, happening across the county. There is no way we could keep our customers with our family business if we raised the prices like Extra Space Storage does.

Total rip off! Your rental rate starts out fair, but since they only allow month to month, they hike it up about every three months. A rental that started at 78 dollars is now almost 100!!!! And, they sent the last notice in the mail dated early so it looks like I would receive it in time to give notice to vacate, but it actually reached me AFTER I paid what will now be my final month.
