Rental car booked as prepaid in order to save cost ~$30. Then attempted to change the date for one day after the original date. General support could not do anything in terms of modifying the original contract. The car also will be lost if not picked up in 12 hours period. Attempted to call billing and was on hold for two hours twice. After two hours automated voice stated that the business is closed now. After reading reviews, I am thinking what happened to me is standard practice. 1. Picked up vehicle in Las Vegas and the vehicle reeked of pot. 3 teenage girls with my friend and I for a company event and was embarrassed each time at valet. 2. Returned the vehicle FULL after topping it off with $28 worth of gas that was used to drive 40 miles in the car. Clean, no issues, just as we received it. 3. On 11MAR20 my family and I rented a car from the Orlando Fox Rent a car location. Our agent Bernard of course told us about the added insurance we could get which would cover us in an accident whether it was our fault or not, this of course being the Loss Damage Waiver or LDW. I along with my wife asked him again that this covers us if we get in an accident whether it was our fault or not and he responded yes. I went to the FOX Rent a Car counter near LAX to transact my reservation. I dealt with a guy named ANAND whom I informed that I did not need Loss Damage Waiver Insurance coverage as my own vehicle policy covers rental and in addition I purchased a third party policy at half of FOX's price. I emphatically declined insurance a second time. He distracted me by asking me how he could unionize FOX Rent A Car. I am not happy at all with this company! I booked a reservation online and they took my payment and a 500 hold. I went to the location in fort myers fl and the manager canceled my reservation and said i will be refunded. My money was never refunded, but my reservation is canceled !! I have tried several times to contact Fox rent a cR and each time I have been on hold for over 1.5 hours and that was 3 times. It is ridiculous! Thee worst company to rent from. Even if you use a second party like Priceline. Check your receipts!!!! They try not to give you a final receipt; and add extra charges that no one can explain. Once you notice the charges... they act like they don't know what the chargers are for. I argued until I was able to speak to a supervisor, who then, tried to make me feel stupid by breaking down the charges. She then noticed that I was right and those charges were incorrect. WOW! Reading the reviews of this company should tell you one thing, but experiencing 'business' with Fox Rent A Car is truly completely horrible. I'm a paying customer to this company and have not received any type of vehicle or service from them, yet they happily took my money ($300) and refuse to help to this day. I placed a reservation to be picked up at 8pm on a Saturday. Once I arrived they were closed and couldn't speak with any representatives that night because the line would just hang up. From: 5/24/2020 To: 5/24/2020 I'm Complaint Summary: I reserved a full size SUV #LAX-XXXXXXX. On my original request , it stated a Chevy suburban or similar. The car I received was a Toyota Forrunner. I asked the clerk if by chance they had any larger vehicles, because I had just rented a similar SUV, and with five teenage boys, driving to Arizona it was very uncomfortable. At times like these you would think that they would work with people that had travel plans since December 2019 a credit or refunds but nope they give refunds to people trying to travel during the pandemic, I knew when I signed up for the non-refund option I was taking a chance but everything else I booked for the trip gave me a credit to reschedule my trip.
