Agreed with the comment below, absolutely a scam of a company and extremely unethical. If negative stars were possible, this company would be receiving them. We rented a dirty, beat up car from them and purchased two insurances. My boyfriend dropped the rental car keys into a lake, which granted was his fault. I booked Fox Rent A Car through Priceline. Fox deceptively states that they are a "short shuttle ride" from LAX. They are actually over an hour away. I am currently in the military overseas and moving back to the U.S. with two small children, two dogs, and associated luggage. Waiting for and putting my family in a shuttle to a location an hour away is simply not feasible after a 24 hour trip from Japan. Unfortunately due to the zero cancellation policy there is nothing I can do about it.
We did online search and Priceline gave us a quote and reservation for a Hyundai Santa Fe from 10/18/2022 until 10/28/2022. Confirmation FFX02EB75F. Paid 491.97 plus 104.00 for insurance coverage Arrived at Fox with our confirmation and the clerk informed us they don't honor Priceline and proceeded to tell us we had to pay 424.55 in order to rent vehicle It's called bait and switch. After they made mistake after mistake and most horrible customer service they said I made a scene and put me on a do not rent list. These people are absolutely ridiculous after giving such poor service and they won't take you off if a manager said it. So incredibly unprofessional and unreasonable and instead of improving CU as the problem. Wow!
I was not told the location was not 24 hours - when I arrived at 3am to drop off the car I found the location closed and there was no airport shuttle. I needed to scramble to find a lyft to get to the airport. In my haste, I left my camera bag in the car and locked it in the car. I have been emailing and calling for 4 days now. Have a pre-paid reservation for Early December out of Ft. Myers Florida. I called to cancel, as we all know that area was blown away by Hurricane Ian. I was told their policy as stated on their agreement stands and no Refund will be given regardless of the city being without power and UN-passable *** unlivable. We reserved a car for late October in early September. Our plans have had to change so my husband called to cancel. He was told it was non refundable!!!!! He reserved over the phone and was NEVER told it would be non refundable, and when the confirmation was sent, NOWHERE in the confirmation is there ANYTHING about it being non refundable. Don't do it! This company is an absolute scam. I reserved a van through Booking.com and when I arrived in Burbank to pick up the vehicle, they didn't have it. Trying to get my money back has been a nightmare and I am still unsure if I will be refunded for the vehicle I rented but never received. Don't waste your time or money. Go to a reputable company.
