We love Friar Tucks! We always make a point of stopping by for a meal whenever we’re in Nevada City!
The staff was outstanding the steaks were cheap quality the cheese fondue was absolutely terrible the vegetables were dirty and the apples were all bruised the terrific staff and ambiance made up for it but dont think ill be dining there anytime soon every restaurant has bad days this may have been the case new chef maybe.
The food at Friar Tucks is always wonderful as is the atmosphere. Our server was great, and food was delivered hot. This is a great place to take out of town guests -it always impresses. It's one of my favorite local restaurants.
Friar Tuck's is our family go to for all our special occasions!!
Always a great place to take visiting friends. Very rustic, friendly and great food. Good vibe with live music.
Excellent service and unique cuisine such as the fondue. Great ambiance for dates or other special occasions.
Great food and service, only input is that the cheese fondue was a way too strong as far as the amount white wine in the fondue cheese, it way over powered the taste for me, and the person serving nitro beer needs to learn to pour the beer at a 45 degree angle, and not just turn the can up to gurgle out and make the beer flat. Just FYI, as this seems like a no brainer but a beautiful dinning place here for sure
Definitely make a reservation if you're planning to have dinner on a Friday or Saturday night, we were seated next to the hostess booth and they were turning away people every couple of minutes throughout our dinner. Pro tip: you can eat the entire menu at the bar (with the exception of the hot peanut oil fondue). My 10 year old and I had the fondue, both of us thought it was heavy-handed on the wine. Otherwise, great experience, perfect place for a winter night with friends and family.
Their Tuckhattan is the best drink in town, the service is excellent and the food wonderful.
