Did not replace damaged lumber on roof as specified. Had to be recalled after examination to replace. Other leaks in roof with nails left in roof in the wrong places. Workers are poor and the managers were okay.
They replaced the roof but not the flashing around the paraphet walls or chimney and the drip edge was incomplete causing water damage where it was not installed. When I found the leak due to the flashing not being changed, I called the company. They would not send anyone out to look at the poor job but instead said to change the flashing would have been more money and that I chose not to have it done. This is not so. As I looked at the neighbor's roofs, I could tell which ones Garcia did. The drip edge is not complete and t... read more
Lee showed up early, walked around the house with me pointing out things that would show up on the estimate and informed me of all the options I had. He did not talk down to me and wasn't pushy at all.

He emailed me the quote a few days later (he had come out on a Friday and I had a quote in my email by Sunday night) and took the time to answer some questions I had thought about afterward.
Although I did not decide to have Garcia redo my roof, I will keep their information on file in case I ever need an... read more
After researching roofers on the Angie's List Website, I decided to contact Garcia Roofing and Sheet Metal to discuss the replacement of a roof on my residence. Mr. Olman,a representative ofGarcia Roofing and Sheet Metal, came to my residence on October 15, 2012to discuss this matter. After choosing the type of shingles, color, and discussing costs, I entered into a contract with the company with the starting date to have the roof replaced at 8:00 a.m. on October 21, 2012.On October 20, 2012, I received a call from Marcy wit... read more
Garcia was one of two quotes I received for the work. Garcia was significantly less expensive than my other quote and did a more complete inspection prior to doing the work. They were delayed slightly because of weather. The job took six hours to complete and was all done by one man. After the work was completed he cleaned up the entire area completely. I would definitely use Garcia roofing again.
When material was delivered, called estimator and told him stacks were for 6 on 12 pitch, drip edge was wrong. When the crew arrived I told them not to use the drip edge and stacks, to no avail none of them spoke English. I've had this house for 40 yrs., have had several roofs installed, so I knew what it needed. Two men came back and took the 1" drip edge off which required cutting 3" off the waterproof; went and got roll of waterproof cut 6" wide strips off and covered the drip edge to waterproof under layment. Good news: ... read more
Before putting on new shingles, they were supposed to locate and replace rotten wood, yet they simply nailed new shingles ON TOP OF ROTTEN WOOD! On the garage, they used nails that were too long--they went through the soffit and stuck out about 1/4 an inch. The rotten wood element was the worst of it, and there appears to be more (some low places on the roof). They did some other stupid, lazy things like putting black caulk on an aluminum pipe. I have dealt with dozens of contractors, and they win the prize for flagrant negl... read more
