We've stayed with Harris Properties 5 times at this point as a family. I hate to see this come to an end because of customer service seeming to go by the wayside (as it seems to with everyone). We signed the paperwork for the stay and paid ½ as a deposit. We got a receipt for the payment and the receipt clearly stated that the 2nd half would be due (30 DAYS) prior to arrival. Hello Belinda. Harris Vacations recently changed our payment plan and refund policy to provide more flexibility to our guests. The rental agreement and payment schedule did reflect the 60 day final payment due date, however, there was a sentence that remained on a landing page that did reflect the previous payment policy of the 30 day final payment. Elevator didn’t work upon arrival. Repairs took 12 hrs on day 3 and part of day 4 of our 7 days. A/C on 1st floor was out. Wi-Fi didn’t work. Half of the TV’s weren’t working. And all that this rental company offered was a discount for an additional day and “aren’t you happy that the elevator is being repaired” when we had to deal with the repair people for about 16hours hammering and blocking the driveway. Will never use this company again.

We had booked a house for a 2 night stay,Thursday and Friday night. On Wednesday we got a call from Harris to say our booking had had to be cancelled due to damage caused by the previous tenant. We had been very careful choosing the house as we wanted one right on the beach.The only thing they could offer was not on the beach but so many rows back which wasn't what we had planned. Harris vacation rentals did a great job of trying to take care of the issue at Lazy Latitude. The moment we opened the door and walked in the offensive smell was overwhelming as though it was mold being camouflaged with febreeze. On the third day of our 5 day stay they brought us an air purifier that somewhat helped. They tried their best to take care of the issue. I developed a cough and sinus pain from the smell and and still dealing with it. If you are sensitive to smell, this house may not be the best choice.

We stayed in “brighter outlook1” It was a decent house with lots of room however it needs some attention. Housekeeping and Harris themselves are slacking. We arrived 8/14 @6pm and couldn’t access our house bc of the lock pad. I called Harris multiple times and text them. @ 8:37am 8/15 they finally sent a text to make sure we got in. So basically if my brother in law wouldn’t have discovered the connection issue we would have had to find somewhere else to sleep the first night. So I was unimpressed right from the start. We rented “Coastal Sands” in Gulf Shores. As soon as we arrived at the property we were greeted by the cleaning company inspector who gave us a very quick walk through and left. As soon as he left the alarm system to the house started going off. We called Harris, who didn’t even know the house was equipped with an alarm. They sent maintenance out, but it took an hour. So we had to deal with the extremely loud noise and security from our neighborhood coming to investigate what was going on, for an hour. While waiting on maint... read more
What a disappointment. This house needs quite a bit of work done to make it worth what we paid to rent it. There’s significant water damage on the walls, with warped and peeling wood paneling. The ceilings are whitewashed pieces of plywood. I’m suspecting this was all part of a very low budget “renovation” after the hurricane, but it was very poorly done. They let us know of construction next door. That’s fine. Had no idea out “private parking” was going to be dependent on if the construction crew next door left us a place to park. If we were lucky enough to park closer then we were blocked in and would have to search for someone to move their vehicles. As soon as they did they parked to where we had to park on the street. Contacted them several times. Was told they would contact contractor. Never got better. Do not recommend Fountain of Youth due to parking. Can only imagine... read more

This property management company literally e-mailed us yesterday, which is approximately 3 weeks before we had a three bedroom home with a 7 night stay booked AND paid in full to notify us that they have canceled our reservation due to incomplete repairs from Hurricane Sally 9 months ago. This home won’t be available until August. If we had known about a month earlier that home would be unavailable instead of 3 WEEKS before our week long scheduled vacation, then we could have easily booked another home.
