My experience at Highland Square has been far from exceptional. The house we were given is much older than most of the others, and with old appliances that keep malfunctioning to go with it. This wouldn’t be much of an issue if maintenance actually would respond in a timely manner, but alas it normally takes the better half of a week for them to come address the problem. The houses are cute, but the maintenance is horrible. No matter how many service requests I put in, nothing is fixed. There’s been black mold in my kitchen since I moved in (10 months ago) and after multiple service requests maintenance has not done anything about it. Most of the time, the WiFi doesn’t work and their only solution was for me to purchase my own router. BEWARE!! This place is horrible! Moved into filthy dirty, bug ridden cottage which every month we had to contact for repairs. Their repair staff are incompetent. The fees are ridiculous. Cars race thru the complex & ignore stop signs. Dog poop is everywhere. The parties go on forever. Don't let your kids sign up without your thorough knowledge of what your getting into & what you are signing.

You’re paying more for no working Internet, no cell phone service, a very rude staff, and broken houses(maintenance doesn’t like to work either). You might as well live at the Retreat or the Hub. At least they are closer to campus. If you read the 5 star ratings closely you can see some of them are just shills.

I don't even live there and I completely hate it. It's the most unorganized place I've ever seen. Some of the employees are very unprofessional and shouldn't even be employed there. I helped my boyfriend decorate his door for Halloween cause they were supposedly giving away a $50 bar tab. Guess who won the bar tab? NOBODY & it's been 2 days past Halloween. They are nothing but liars. Do not waste your money at this horrible place!!! You will thank me later!
Do not rent here. Too many other places in Oxford. Problems started on move in day with a clogged toilet left over from previous tenant Took three days to get toilet unclogged. The management only responded when they were threatened with a call to the health department and breaking the lease. Next the electronic door key quit working on a Sunday evening at 9:30. Management is not concerned with residents' issues or maintenance requests. Took 3 weeks and 2 angry moms to even get dryer vent cleaned out, which is a huge fire hazard. Our 2 tall barstools were taken and replaced with 3 "new" ones (AKA leftover desk chairs). The "blazing fast wifi" is out 90% of the time. And those are only a few of the issues we have run into. Will not be renewing lease, no matter how many ridiculous promotions are offered.
Run by college students so they do not take our concerns seriously. Very frustrating to deal with. Would not recommend
