This is perfect for black and white. I use it for work.
Went to the Brother web site, connected to their installer, let it set the printer up, and started printing. Very easy, works perfectly.
I've got 3 Brother laser printers now, this is the first all-in-one, and love 'em. I'm not doing big production jobs. But for example, printing 2 sided is a breeze, it turns each sheet and prints both sides hands off. Dynamite. Had a good service call when I had a set up problem with windows 10, they were patient and got me through it. Toner is cheaper than jet ink, and doesn't get wasted cleaning the jets every time you turn it on and off as in an ink jet machine.
This is a great printer, it is fast and easy to use.

This was easy to set up and use. The quality of the unit seems to be excellent and although I've used it very little since buying it, I have a similar Brother model that I've used for a few years, and it's been even more reliable and easy-to-use than I expected.
I really love this printer. It's fast and dies the job. Sadly I gave it 4 stars because it is a tad loud. Toner wise it lasts a long time and is cost effective. I love the wifi capability which I had 0 problems setting up. I also like printing direct from my phone. Sadly Best buy also didn't have the stock of the color version I wanted but this one turns out to do the trick on 99% of the things I need. Thanks Brother for making a quality product
What I can I say about this printer? Its not too big, it prints front and back, it copies, and scans. I have no complaints. Unlike the other reviewer who says it doesn't work on a mac network, for me it does. I've had no problems with either macs or PCs. Its easy to install. For under $100 its a great buy!
I replaced a HP all in one expensive printer that died after 1-2 years with this one. I have an old Brother (probably 10 years old) that is still chugging along so I decided to stay with Brother. It works great. A little louder and a little slower but very competent for my needs. A plus for me is it turns itself off (not just sleeps) when not in use. It was a great price. And prints from my iPhone as well as my computer. Also bought one for my daughter and she seems to be happy with it as well.
