Came here to look for a few larger pieces. Some good quality items, but mostly overpriced and a little oversized--the scale seems off for some of the designs, and I can't understand why they want 4 figures for some MDF. I'm not a furniture snob--I can live with some MDF on a few everyday pieces/pieces for kids, but I'm sure not going to pay $3000 for it! For a 10/1/12 visit. I barely even remember this place........oh yeah, didn't have ANYTHING I was looking for. Decent set-up, decent selection - nothing for me. Very nice sales reps tho.
I've bought 2 armchairs and one sofa from homeworld and they are all incredibly crappy. The stuffing is horrible and compacted to 1/2 it's former thickness within 3 months. OVERPRICED Cheap Chinese furniture! Don't do it , you'll regret it.
January: The Purchase We bought some new furniture for a new upstairs living room. I always dread furniture sales people, but our guy Hal was awesome. I wish I could say we had the same stellar service regarding our dining set as we got for our stools. Our dining set has still not come in...original ETA was May 2011. We are not even going to get it before Thanksgiving. I wonder if it will be this year at all. Every month it gets delayed another month. We are now considering cutting our losses on the set we really wanted...to get anything now would cost double on something we would compromise on. I'm very disappointed with home world, purchased a bedroom set in 2008 and by 2010 all the drawer slides from almost all the drawers in our 2 dressers are braking down. The plastic slides used on these models are simply terrible and the bearings from each of the slides simply come out of the slides making the drawers unusable. I contacted the customer support staff at home world and I've been waiting for 2 weeks for them to tell me if the parts (slides) are available. They have not even gotten me a price for these slide...... read more
