Honeymoon Chicken Born from the playful culinary philosophy “where funky meets fancy,” Honeymoon Chicken takes the art of fried chicken to a new level of sophistication and creativity. The chef-curated menu is crafted by the illustrious king of BBQ, Chef Rob Sonderman, who first graced DC with his low and slow meat cookery at Federalist Pig. Best described as a love letter to the delicious majesty of fried chicken.

I got the honeymoon chicken Benny. The description on the menu sounded good. Once I got my meal it was covered with a thick layer of habanero/hollandaise sauce that ended up making me sick after a few bites. The bread rolls on the other hand were actually really good and the chicken was good as well.

Hello Javier, we are glad that you enjoyed the chicken and rolls and it would be helpful to discuss the sauce. please contact us at info@honeymoonchicken.com
I had high hopes for Honeymoon Chicken, being a fan of Fed Pig BBQ and eager to try their take on fried chicken. The small yet cozy space greeted us with friendly staff, and our food arrived surprisingly fast. We opted for the Spicy and Original chicken buckets, but the Honey dust seasoning, while subtly sweet, lacked the distinctiveness we expected. While the chicken itself was tender, it didn't stand out from other casual fried chicken places. The sides--fries and mac & cheese--were decent but fell short of the flavors at ... read more

Hello Danny, this is very helpful feedback. Please contact us at info@honeymoonchicken.com so we can discuss.
We enjoyed our time at Honeymoon chicken. The ambience was very vibrant. It almost felt like we were in a diner. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. Several staff members offered assistance and checked in on our table. My favorite dishes were the fried chicken and the Brussels sprouts. The rolls had a hint of garlic but also were sweet like honey. The strawberry lemonade daiquiri was amazing!
Really good fried chicken. Highly recommend getting the hot honey dipped. The ambience is. Ice and kind of has a diner type vibe. My only criticism would be that the service is not great. Waiters appear to be a little lost when ordering drinks or when asking for things like cups/plates. All in all, highly recommend this place.
Honeymoon Chicken lives up to the hype and was our MOST pleasant (DC) restaurant surprise. Cool vibe/energy, counter seating, and (as expected) great chicken. We also LOVE that we can wash our hands right there in the main dining room and get back to the....dining. We ordered the "flagship" chicken sandwich (buffalo was discontinued) with crispy honey dusted chicken breast, cheddar, cilantro-lime slaw, pickles, comeback sauce, on a toasted bun...and yes, it was killer. Top 3 chicken sandwiches we've ever had. Absolutely tr... read more
We loved this spot and went back multiple times on our trip! The rolls, chicken and mashed potatoes were incredible. Wish we had tried the Mac and cheese as everyone around us was raving about it. The drinks were also incredible with the strawberry pineapple frozen lemonade being our absolute favorite. No reservations and seating is limited so if weather doesn't permit outside seating, may be worth it to go during off hours to get a spot quickly.
