Don't even realize I'm in Baytown. A little pricey- but the comfort is worth the money.
I really enjoyed my experience at this theatre. We wanted to see Star Wars a few days after it came out, and I was worried about having to get to the theatre super early and still possibly not having good seats. Fortunately, we discovered that not only can you buy tickets on the website, but you can even reserve your seats for the SDX theatre. This was great because we didn't have to come early at all. The movie screens are great and we like the bowling alley. However, the food service needs to be improved. The bar tenders will often not cover the entire bar and will stand around not thinking they have customers when people are waiting, or will skip customers. The food service is quite slow and at times gets the order wrong even when I order it as its stated in the menu. For example I ordered pork sliders which the menu indicated came with fries. I just went to see Star Wars. Great movie and a great theater to see it in. Two thumbs up for both. Check this place out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
I came here for a work event (we saw a matinee of the new Star Wars movie as a group). The theater is very shiny and new which is nice. When you arrive there's a huge parking lot so plenty of space. Inside you can find a full bar, a bowling alley, and a full complement of snacks and drinks. They sell the normal candy packages but they also sell candy by the pound ($13.99/lb) just like a candy store so you can mix and match and get great portions sizes for a lower price than the packages. It has been 18 years since attending a grand opening for a movie theater. Showbiz Cinemas have perfectly executed a concept that has probably been in the works for a while. I will start with the parking and exterior. It is a ten screen theater with a snack bar, cafe, party rooms and to top it off a bowling alley and a fully stocked bar. We just saw Crime 101 at Hooky in theater #6. The aspect on the screen was so skewed you couldn't see the top of the actors' heads when there was even halfway to a close up. Everything was unnaturally elongated and the closeups were even more hard to see and made it impossible to enjoy what seemed like a very good movie. We complained and Mgr Oscar gave us passes to come back but honestly it was a terrible viewing experience. Also, the "fresh" popcorn was too salty and not warm at all. Overall, a very disappointing outing.

I can honestly say this Hooky's location in Baytown Texas, as well as when it used to be named Showbiz, has had the absolute worst employees I've ever seen any business have. This is my first Yelp review because normally I don't review businesses, but the level of unprofessionalism I've seen from this place is ubelievably ridiculous. This place used to be called Showbiz (I think) and would when I'd come visit home we'd periodically go see a movie. It's called Hooky now. Personally I don't care for the name change. We attended the 1st showing on a Sunday. The place was clean but it's very very disorganized. The staff had ZERO personality and no one had any idea what was going on.
