We toured Indigo at Carolina Forest and it was an absolutely lovely place. We met with the chef and all the staff members were great. In order for our loved one to get a balcony, it would have been a very long walk because they only offer them on rooms at the end of the hallways. Also, the balconies are shared by 2 units.

The facility is attractive and clean; has varied activities; is fair with not overcharging points and that is where it ends. Regarding assisted living, the facility performs poorly: inadequate staff:resident ratio; some staff can be dismissive toward residents; food was good until they hired a new lead “chef” and is no longer quality; not sufficiently knowledgeable in medically-involved resident care; high direct care staff turnover; considerable lack of communication between staff, residents, and families; and poor response... read more

The caregivers are not trained. They don't know how to assist my loved one in showering. The private Occupational Therapists we've brought in are having to train Indigo's care staff. Instead of showering my loved one twice a week like they're supposed to, they're only doing so once every two weeks, yet they're charging us for extra services. He needs assistance getting dressed, and sometimes they wait so late to help him that he misses breakfast. He's a diabetic, so that is not okay and shows a lack of organization and plann... read more
