Our server, Hayley, was absolutely superb. Very knowledgeable. We both ordered the 10 oz fillet to be cooked medium. Wife's came out medium. Min was very medium well. Why the difference. And this does not seer their beef similar to other fine steakhouses in San Antonio. And had somewhat of a salty taste. Will go to Kirby's or Fleming's next time.
Absolutely one of my favorite places in all of San Antonio!!! A very much needed, very welcome addition to the area of 1604 and Heubner!
This is the best steak in San Antonio. When they bring it to the table, the plate is still sizzling. The service is terrific and the wine list is extensive. They were out of a bottle I ordered, so they upgraded me to a nicer option at the same price - excellent!
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. The chef personally came out to talk with us and it couldn't have been a better evening.

As regulars at J-Prime, we’ve always enjoyed coming here, but our last few visits have been really disappointing. During our most recent visit, we arrived right at the start of happy hour, yet our drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive. Service was disjointed—we had three different servers throughout the evening, which made the experience feel impersonal and unwelcoming. The food and service were both amazing. Unfortunately we went to a date night and this just wasn’t the place for that. We were seated in a smaller area with a table of 10 and a table of 12. Both were celebrating. The music was loud and between the two we couldn’t hear one another speak. Then during dinner they set up another large table for a birthday party and started putting together another large table both between 10 and 12 people. Two couples. Asked for quiet table but it is an all open restaurant for the most part. Service is too attentive. Never thought I'd say that but it was. About every 5-10 minutes we were approached by staff and asked if everything was alright. It got annoying. Three of the four meals were excellent. I asked for the boned in filet. The waiter got it wrong, as it came split between my wife and I. Instead of cooking me a new one, they simply added the second part to my plate. Ordered an over priced Filet, just for it to be served black and blue, wait time for entree was a little under an hour, which is surprising due to the done-ness of the medallion. Cocktails were good, water cup never emptied, due to other support staff. The Gratin saved the experience- potato lovers rejoice. Bill was split down the middle without asking how to be split, which was just the icing on the cake. Should’ve went to Saltgrass.
