My husband and I always love going to J Prime. Knowing it was going to be busy, we made reservations. However, it took 22 minutes after our reservation for us to be seated. Our waitress was mediocre, and not what you expect from an expensive restaurant. Just like always, the food was great and the drinks were too. I won’t keep spending this kind of money without getting excellent service.
We have been visiting J prime for almost 3 years now. We have always loved the food and the price wasn’t too bad. We have noticed that our usual order is now almost twice the price and service quality has diminished on top of it. Our plates used to be $55 each for the entree and that same entree now cost us $86. All the while, the steaks actually looked smaller than before. It feels like a different restaurant now and for that reason, we won’t becoming back.
Service was on point, crab cake was good, wedge salad was good, steak fries over-cooked, brussel sprouts ok (wife loved them), but most disappointing - the tomahawk - was crispy almost burnt on the edges, well past medium, more like medium well to well done, and not much edible meat for a “44oz” steak for two - told my wife it reminded me of a brisket. - OUR SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT! - I asked for the music to be turned down two times. Felt like we went to a night club for dinner. That’s fine for the bar area but not the dining room. - The area we were sat in has a storage room or office. There was a constant walking back and forth. It definitely takes away from the ambiance. - Overall our thoughts are the place wants to be fine dining or high end. The only thing high end is the price.
Service took extremely long.. food was a little cold
The food was tasty and the service was kind however my brother’s steak was over cooked which is super odd for a steak place. Our wait time from our appetizer to actual meal took super long. To be honest it was so long that I got frustrated at not seeing our server and was confused at the delay.
I have eaten there on several occasions and service and food was spot on. Tonight it was not. Service was not great . Had to ask where are drinks were at. Had to ask for another drink. My wife and I both ordered steaks medium and mine was well done and hers very rare. Every place you go can have a bad night and tonight it was that way at this restaurant. Probably should have said something about the way the steaks were cooked but I don’t go to a nice restaurant to have to send food back.
Used to the best experience - New Year’s Day was not it.
Great service- very attentive staff. We were very pleased with each one who waited on us. The only drawback was the noise. The pop music was loud and it was difficult to hear.
