The only surprise was that when we arrived and I provided my name, they said they didn’t have a reservation in my name. Strangely enough, our guest had arrived before us, gave my name and was seated in the section I had requested. Later the manager was going to every table asking how things were going and he never came to our table. I was not impressed by that lack of professionalism.
We had a reservation at 8:15 and we showed up and was told final call that night was 9:30? Which gives us about an hour to look at the menu, order, eat and decide! I come here every year for my birthday but I feel like they should've contacted people who made reservations and let them know that was happening. We were seating in a booth as we were 6 people and then was asked to move because another party of 6 saw our table and wanted it? We said sure where? i usually love joeys and it is one of my frequent spots but on this particular visit my steak was cold and the portions were a bit smaller than usual☹️
My partner and I found the food to be good for the most part. We ordered the truffle parmesan fries and Korean fried cauliflower to start, then the steak with sushi and the herb crush salmon along with drinks. Everything tasted good except for the steak. I found it to be very chewy and the taste ok. Don’t buy a steak at Joey’s, they will cut it up prior to plating. Very disappointed with the food.
The predinner cocktails arrived late after the main dish had been served. The Special JoeY's Martini was improperly mixed, they were out of olive vinegar for Dirty request and the barman forgot the olive. Lower standard hard to find
We had an okay time at this Joeys location in Ottawa. We had lunch. The reason why I didn’t gave a great experience is because after our okay lunch our server picked up a dirty napkin off the floor and put it on our table with us sitting there. I was so upset that went to washroom to sanitize my phone. I will say that the lettuce wraps are good.
Pricey. They dont tell you if theres surcharges on some things so the bill was surprising. It was a birthday and we would have to pay for the piece of cake. We passed and celebrated elsewhere.
